Googie missed the final last night after all this was pointed out to him, so obviously he is not cheating!

I saw that score late last night as I was scraping data and fell out of my chair laughing. He could miss every final question for the next 6 months and his SD average would still be better than his BB average.

And speaking of BB, one of the groups players last night (VLAMAN) posted two scores in BB, one at BWW Ironton where the team was, another at RJ Kahunas.

I also can't wait to see everyone at Triviapalooza. I play for fun and learning and the slim chance I might win something from the cards. I take none of this seriously. Apperently some people take this stuff too seriously. I don't play the sports trivia because I don't ussually play but Tuesday nights. Last night no one seemed to know Jupiter was the answer so I picked Saturn.

Is there anyone on this forum from Portland? Two teams with almost identical scores completely destroying the rest of nation is at least a little suspicious. I do know there are some very good players in that area, but this recent run at least warrants the question.

Already admitted on this forum that both sites borg during local tournaments. Apparently one site borgs all the time while the other only during competitions.

Funny, looks as though you play almost every night. Although you really don't "play" any night of the week. I guess the best way to put it is you are logged in nearly every night of the week, but you never actually play.

I thought you gave a good answer to this until I looked these guys up.
Times everyone has played STC in the last 6 months.
Eric - 22
Nasdaq - 12
Enbalm - 6
GoReds - 3
Chickn - 2

I am not a big fan of Buzztime stats. I actually long for the old days before all this crap came along. But looking at your site and putting the 7 handles you have together in one lump sum. Your numbers are Ruthian to say the least. Over 400 medals and 8000 top 100's. If these numbers are legit, I would say you are the Buzztime HOF as one of the best players ever. I have no way of knowing. However, you came into Friday's a few years back and you did not play anywhere near to the level you are playing now.

I wouldn't say ERIC is the best Buzztimer I've met and I haven't studied his stats, but given the amount he plays, # of boards he uses, and a pretty good trivia knowledge... I don't think his numbers are too far fetched.

In looking at things - Eric's numbers are legitimate. However, one bad apple can spoil the bunch and unfortunately that is what has happened. I do not know if trust will ever come back from the Buzztime Community or if everyone is going to look at any scores coming from Ironton/Ashland as legitimate for quite a while.

Eric is a good person with a good heart and wants the best for all of us.

There has been some interest among a few of the sports trivia guys around the country concerning the much-improved STC scores coming out of your bar, ERIC.
They seem to have shot up about the same time a few of these other shenanigans began.
Coincidence?
Me? I don't really care. Our bar can still overcome that sort of thing.
But there are quite a few others that would be interested in finding out which player there became an overnight sports savant.

I played solo on Monday nights At the beginning of the year.. till Dave NASDAQ and Shawn GOREDS started playing on Monday nights with me in March. Dave is unbelieveable at sports. And I will tell you right now.. My Monday night group is 100% legit. Nobody on here ever has to worry about me Cheating EVER. Dave will be at Triviapalooza and will tell you right there we are a legit team. I do ok for myself in Sports, but Dave easily can achieve a 20k + on Sports Trivia Challenge. And Shawn knows baseball and football from the 70s to today.

I'll take your word for it, ERIC.
Besides, I get to meet Dave in Cincy. Having met and played with some of the best sports trivia players there are, I'll be able to tell in less than two minutes if he's legit. It should be fun...for me anyway.

FWIW--I've played with ERIC a few times, and other than being a soda-sipper, he's a good trivia player that plays CONSTANTLY.

I've never seen him cheat, but he does use the the multiple boards to his best advantage.

That said, I have no idea what any one is doing using the phone app to play at two different sites at once. No explanation will convince me that there is a legimate reason to be doing that.

I posted this when this thread got started. Do you know anyone who does this??

There is a guy in St Louis that does that during Lunchtime. He even logs in to a site that is not open at the moment. This person does that with two iPhone/iPads/iPod/androids. Funny thing is there is no way to where he is playing at when he cheats.

He logged at Site B and NOT Site A. The Mobile Playmaker need to narrow the choices to just ONE not having 4 chances to cheat.

Name names, it's the only way anyone can check his stats and see what he/she is up to. If they're a cheat they deserve to be outed.

He goes by ROMEO/ROMEOO and sometimes he is based at Indigo Joes in Wildwood, MO. But there is no evidence of where he is at when he is cheating. He also changes his handles and locales as well.

here is his handles and look at the Lunchtime scores in general:

I do multiple boards for location averages. That's why I use so many names. And my scores on my names are very close within each other, unless I ran out of time to change an incorrect answer to a correct answer. You never have to doubt me.

I asked Googie in pm if He could just play his names at one site (The site he is physically at) it would really help the whole situation out. I have yet to hear from him. I told him
also Triviapalooza will probably not be a warm welcome for him unless he changes his actions and SOON.

I believe me and Eric have reached an agrement. I can play at one location only. But unlike Eric I'm not a picky person when it comes to where I play. I like most of the places in the area, where as Eric prefers BW3. I don't like to play at one place all the time. I just hope we all can move on and get along. I'm actually suprised to be caught up in all this considering how honest and helpful I am.

Not that anyone needs to justify their playing to me, I'm just a mid-range hillbilly trivia player on my best days, BUT...

...not one of y'all have given me, or anyone, a reason why you are playing at two separate sites with the phone app at the same time, except to say that ONCE the site's computer went down and you had to finish the game logging on else where. But what about all the other multi-site games in the play history?

(I play at a variety of sites, but I actually GO to those sites to play.)

I agree wholeheartedly with tie. Reading through the posts there has never been one explanation as to why this type of game play is even pursued at all. Have to say this whole thing doesnt quite pass the smell test.

Some players may simply think it's cute logging in to a remote location, picturing all the local on-site players looking around bewildered and wondering who this unknown player is and WHERE IS HE SITTING - especially if the ghost player is kicking their butt (in which case whether it's due to actual skill or a reverse time lag cheat, those local players couldn't say for sure, adding to their irritation)!

Note, I have not done this. But I can see one reason.

Persons A and B are friends playing at the same time at different bars, perhaps 5-10 miles from each other. "B" sees "A" make the leader board after a game. As a joke, "B" signs in at the bar where "A" is to give him some competition, yet still play at bar where he is. If done all in fun, perhaps okay, but otherwise no.

THANK YOU!!!

I can see this as something some folks would do and something I would never have thought to do.

Of course, with sparsity of players in my area, I would probably just drive over to the other site and hang out with them.
