New Scaratings

Did anyone play the new Badge Hunter game yesterday (May 8). I was at wallaby's in Lenexa, KS and we got a game of Countdown instead of Badge Hunter, AND on top of it we didn't get ANY badges for questions on which we scored 1,000 points. I am curious to know if anyone else experienced anything similar. Just as an FYI wallaby's is off the East/Central feed. I used my iphone to see if any other local bars were playing Badge Hunter (as a test if Wallaby's was exception or not) and ALL bars on my iphone only offered Texas Hold Em no CD OR Badge Hunter option......

I just can't figure out Louisville people. Two run this board and do so quite well, while all the others have no clue how to navigate it! Cracks me up. I can just see the genesis of this board.....



The setting, a Louisville trivia bar where Dante, Scar, Cloudy, Jesse, and Fshman are playing trivia and drinking.

Scar: I've got an idea, let's start a trivia forum where people from all over North America can discuss BT trivia.

Dante: That could work, I've got the technical knowledge, sounds like a plan.

Fshman: Not interested, would take away from trivia.

Cloudy: Can we discuss other things besides trivia?

Scar: Why would we want to do that on a trivia board?

Jesse: Would we get P+ points for this?

Dante: No, you wouldn't get P+ points. It's just a forum to talk about the games and stuff.

Fshman: I don't talk about trivia, I play trivia.

Cloudy: I want to talk about things that happened 50 years ago.

Scar: Did you play trivia 50 years ago?

Cloudy: I don't remember....

Jesse: If we don't get P+ points, I don't care if we talk about trivia.

Dante: I need another drink.

Fshman: Look at that, another perfect game of BTT.

Scar: C'mon Cloudy, help us out here.

Cloudy: I'm not joining unless there's a section where I can talk about something other than trivia!

Dante: Fine, we'll create a non-trivia area just for you. OK?

Cloudy: Buy me a beer and it's a deal!

Jesse: I'm not joining unless I get P+ points.

Scar: Fine, if you join we'll steal some points from somebody and give them to you. OK?

Jesse: Has to be at least a million points, otherwise no deal.

Fshman: Can we talk about politics now?

Dante: You know Scar, this could turn out to be one giant pain in the ass.

Scar: I know.

Actually, the original Scaratings pre Buzztime's forum was created all by my lonesome. My skills had become somewhat dated and I thought I should get into the online world, so I researched Web Hosts, bought Front Page and learned how to generate web pages, scraped data manually and dropped it into Visual FoxPro for data manipulation for the old rankings, exported to Excel and set up Cascading Style Sheets, learned how to set up a PHP forum, etc. (not that that was by any means professional, but it was functional and raised my awareness, which was the point).

That is really kind of funny now. I did it to get current to an extent, now that's old as Methusaleh IT wise, and when the BT forums died and folks wanted Scaratings to return, I turned to Dante as I didn't want to get current anymore.

Hmm, another decade passed.

Maybe it is time to get current again. Old programmers never die, they just cease to be supported.
