I've officially gotten old. I don't want to listen to anyone whine about anything for any reason.

This seemed like a good place to post this....

I was playing Late Shi(f)t last night, Monday June 4, 2012 @ Applebee's right here in (cheap pop) OVERLAND PARK, KS when I got a question that re: a German individual who was the teacher of what famous scientist:

1. Albert Einstein

2. ????

3. Sigmund Freud

4. Werner Von Braun

Buzztime's answer was Freud.

Excuse me, but, Sigmund Freud is NOT a scientist. EINSTEIN is a scientist, WERNER VON BRAUN is a scientist, FREUD is a PSYCHOANALYST, which makes him a DOCTOR, which is NOT a scientist....

I disagree. You should read his books!

Though I would agree that he is more of a philosopher than anything.

Civilization and its Discontents is excellent, though you need to keep it in its proper historical context.

Saw (and missed) a question Sunday that asked which vertebrate mammal had the highest metabolic rate.

BT answer:

HUMMINGBIRD

I thought that the bat was the only flying mammal.

And don't get me started on the Taxonomy question that was completely wrong.

Oh, what a beautiful morning...

Due to time constraints caused by getting off work late and my wife wanting to meet for me dinner after she finished shopping I didn't have time to make it to Varsity Grill in Tallahassee, FL for just one game (Spotlight) to unwind with the Friday night regulars there so I wound up at Pocket's Pool and Pub. My box registered 100% when I logged on and by Question 8 of the Get A Clue Round it died, a full 37 minutes of functionality. I totalled 247 points for the last two questions while I logged on to another box. I hate it when that happens.

Just saw this bag o' douche question that kept me from a perfect game:

All of these are folk heros except:

John Henry
Simon Legree
Johnny Appleseed
Paul Bunyon
Davy Crockett

OK, three of these people actually lived, the other is an American myth, the third is etched as the ultimate villian/bad guy from "Uncle Tom's Cabin".

Poorly written question to me, but I am on vacation...

I'd go Simon Legree because he's certainly not a hero.

Yes. That was the answer BT gave.

I had to think if "hero" was in the question. I think it was, which should have pointed right at Legree, but the phrasing and the inclusion of real people & fictional caused a brain stutter.

Nothing a quick trip to the vehicle won't cure.
