What's this trivia thing that I've been hearing so much about lately? :D

We're at 86th and Michigan Road on the northwest side of Indy.
Pretty good food. The most comfortable bar stools in the world.
And, apparently, they have a small group of idiots who regularly play trivia with little success.

Ok Monkey Boy what kind of games are your guys playing at 86th St??

Today on the rare occasion of playing BT daytime, twice I saw 86th St listed as 1st and 2nd on the bar rankings with different scores.
The 1st time, around 2:00 eastern:
1. 86th St 94xx
2. 86th St 88xx
The only 86th player listed on individual rankings was MKRCHD.

Didn't catch the 2nd time scores.

Is this some phone app ploy to try to rack up ill gotten gold medals as you are 5 golds behind DeMoris for the lead? If not then what's the deal??

*crickets chirping*. I've done some gold mapping from the 18th to the 28th from 6 months ago, and DeMori's was set to lose about 30 golds to the 86th St. Pub. So I'm sure the "Top Trivia Sites" rankings are true. DeMori's is prone to having a killer weekend, followed by Mendoza Line trivia.

I'm curious as to the app factor. Perhaps, BUD, you saw 8th St. Pub in Minneapolis? Just checking.

Sorry Bud,
didn't catch your first post.

We didn't get any rankings all Monday or early Tuesday.
I saw that we were alone in not reporting out for STC that night. So when I went to the bar Tuesday afternoon, I had the barkeep check the connection. Apparently, one of the cooks unplugged the modem to plug in his radio Sunday night after close.
We saw the double reporting the first game back, but didn't notice a second one.
I'm not sure what makes me more sad.
That people think that we need to cheat to get golds or that no one suspected something was wrong when we weren't littering the national boards as usual on Monday...

No. His eyes did not fail him. It was us up there twice, as previously explained.
But allow me to sate your curiosity.
We earn our golds the old-fashioned way.

I do the same, knowing useless crap (aka pop culture), don't have east coast connections for LT and never use my android to find the answer.

Never meant any disrespect, Spotes. I was thinking that maybe BUD saw "8th St.", instead of 86th St. And I am enough of a caveman that I do not understand any sort of app loophole. Well-played, congratulations on your ranking. We'll get you again on some Jag-filled weekend...

When the guys saw the rankings, they thought it was hilarious.
My immediate response to them was mentioning how other players might suspect a phone ploy of some sort. So, obviously, some confusion is understandable.
I share your atheism of the gods technological.
I don't have a smart phone.
That's my job... :D

Sorry SPOTES, it was so odd that it did look bad. Never heard of just plugging back in getting 2 scores sent out, possibly one old one stored and the current one? You'd think the BT computer would be able tell the difference?

I know you are on the up and up, wasn't sure about all the others around Indy and your neighboring state.

Carry on in the hunt to get the lead back.

I suspect that it was the score from the game before. Could have been from the same time the day before, perhaps. Those drunk tardos couldn't remember their score from the previous BT game, so it's hard to be sure. :D

BTW, already back up by 60 or so. The fact that there were far fewer TV and car questions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon when I was there is probably coincidental to our medal growth...
