The Ol’ S O B’s been pretty quiet here the last several months. I’ve been missing you folks and the game I love a great deal while putting up a massive struggle with Cancer. Haven’t played Showdown for five months. The battle rages and it’s not going well. Big C always wins in the long run.

So it was a great thrill for me last night with a break in my chemotherapy schedule to be feeling strong enough to have my wife, Janelle, offer to drive me to Dagwoods to join the gang once again. We were really made to feel welcome: front row table saved for our late arrival, standing ovation when we walked in; all food and drinks comp'ed by the owner, etc. It was a special night for me.

No one even laughed at my sudden baldness. (Well, maybe a few in the back row.)

And we were super pleased to finish 3rd to Chicago Loop & Danny K’s; Dag’s highest ranking in over two years! We’ve still got it! Don’t know when I’ll get the chance to do it again; next chemo treatment is Monday, but I’ll be looking forward to whenever I can get back with the gang. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Congrats on getting out for the night!

My best friend and trivia buddy is battling brain cancer, which makes trivia about impossible for him. DAWG and I did a roadie and hit every BT site in WV a few years back. He also popped into the WVBTO in Morgantown. He still goes with me to sites, but can't read the questions or answers, which frustrates the shit out of him.

Glad you had a chance for some trivia action and nice job with the scores from Hillbillyville.
