Pyramid round. Which of the following Johann Wolfgang von Goethe plays is about a 16th Century Italian poet?
TIMUR yells from the back row "Isn't Torquato Tasso the only 16th Century poet?"
We all look at each other and shake our heads. "Uh, yeah, Rick. I think the others were all 14th Century. Yeah. That's the ticket."
It's good to have a TIMUR on your team. Congrats to Danny K's for their win in a great game.
Thanks NTN for this question. It helped us and probably wiped out all the borgers.
The question didn't specify Italian. That would have made it a gimme.
We arrived at the answer using the same logic as Rick did.
Then the Curse of the Pharaohs struck. Having nailed the Pyramid Round, up comes a topic we know we're almost guaranteed to tank. And we did. Knew about the e. coli outbreak in Germany, of course, but had not seen any code for the strain in any article I've read. Oh well.
Still came in 15th. I guess a lot of teams must have bitten on influenza as well.
