A conditional tip of the hat to the team from Puyallup (after decades in Texas I have this urge to throw in an apostrophe after the y) for the victory last night. Conditional, of course, on their being clean winners by virtue of brainpower alone.

Our silver bullet was Ms Mozart. I went for Bach on the grounds that the family was so prolific there had to be a girl in there somewhere. In the dazzling light of hindsight I now realize that "Nannerl" has a distinctly Alpine ring to it, so I should have gone with the Austrian. Oh well.

Pretty sure that team is not legit. I also remember a complete dick on the BT forums played there off and on so he very easily could have picked up some ideas and implemented them.

Our classical music expert got Mozart but he had to mull it over momentarily.

I vaguely recalled Mozart's older sister, so I got that one right. A fair amount of classical music questions considering the Category Round and the Final Tragedy. (Anyone recall what the Classical Category Round questions were? I was outvoted both times.)

The second one was: "The Creation" and "The Seasons" are _____ by Haydn (ORATORIOS)

Was the other one picking the Donizetti opera or was that on another round? Lucia di Lammermoor was the (gimme - just as the oratorios) answer.

That was it. For those who didn't go with it, the other choices were much better known works.

On that note, the Vegas Borg is back in action.

Not during tournaments, anyway, and Tuesday marked the beginning of the latest Travelling Trophy.

This isn't speculation, by the way. Before the PM function was taken off the BT site I sent an inquiry to a rep of the team and he was quite open about saying they often used computers during the tournaments.

Speaking of non-sequiturs, does anyone know any of the Spanish Poets, Jazz, or German Films questions from a couple of weeks ago? Or the second Russian culture question from this week?

Thanks.

Haha! That's funny. We had ONE person get all five pyramids. He didn't Sandbag though.. he just stuck to his guns :) We all waffled.

I didn't sandbag, my teammates pissed me off so I sat in a corner by myself where I couldn't hear them. Not having those extra voices allowed me to think much clearer and was able to ration out the pyramid questions. When the final scores were shown I jumped on a table waving my playmaker in the air triumphantly while mockingly grabbing my crotch.
