New Scaratings

Personally I found the game fairly tough. Game went completely down the toilet in Countdown round with no recovery possible to a decent score. Final was NOT google-resistant unfortunately - some suspects appeared on the final board.

I'm not familiar with BWW Springboro OH. They had the top individual and bar score last night

We struggled with the Countdown Round as well. Got through Pyramid unscathed until the last question, but by then even if we had gotten six people on Samos, the best we could have hoped for was second place, anyway.

BWW-Springboro is not a newcomer to the boards--they've been a consistently pretty-good team for a number of years now, often in the top 20 in year-end average rank. As far as I know based on what I've heard from people from that area, they are legit. You may want to ask TEVERETT or one of the Dayton people for independent confirmation.

Was that anything to do with Aristarchus?

Yep. No excuse--I should have known it. They also had Pythagoras, which is what threw me--I thought he was from somewhere else.

According to Don Denton's archives, BWW Springboro finished in the Showdown Top 100 twenty-five times last year. On eleven of those nights, they were in the Top 10. Interestingly, they were #1 the third week of January last year.

They seem to be a pretty consistent performer. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Congrats to them on a good score.
