Showdown Recap for 27 Jun 2017 at BWW Gibson in ABQ
For some reason, BLZBUB’s trust that Ken Z would make a timely detail of His exploits in the realm of Triviadom was misplaced. Perhaps it was because the mortal one was off celebrating the Birthday of his sweet baboo, and not paying attention to his weekly chores.

FINAL TRAGEDY Topic: SCIENCE FICTION
Which science fiction writer invented Pellucidar, a place in Earth’s hollow center?
1. Arthur Conan Doyle 2. Edgar Rice Burroughs 3. Isaac Asimov 4. Samuel Delaney 5. H. Rider Haggard
The order of the eliminations was 4, 5, 3, and 1, leaving #2, EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS, as the correct answer. CHILL had called this an instant before DUFF. Such double confirmation by two of our stronger players is a highly anticipated event during Final Tragedy, and usually leads to a full wager being earned. Such was the case for this game.
The top individual scores for the night were 55498, 50247, 49842, 48931, 48696, and 48468 points. The team average score was 50,280 points. The team’s ranking was SEVENTH Place. This was considered a good outcome on another difficult game.
The best teams in the nation were again slammed by the difficulty of the game. Keep it up, Buzzies. The top performers were Houlihan’s of Westbury, NY @ 53487; Teasers of Chicago, IL @ 52253; Tailgators of FARGO, ND @ 52084; BWW Okie City, OK 51559, Big Guys of Winnipeg, MB @ 50484; Danny K’s of Orange, CA @ 50469; and then the Ragged Rascals in ’burque.
Congratulations to all the wet-ware only competitors, which conspicuously does NOT include our cross-town rivals, the Smegtasters at Spectators Sports with their lowly 38783 point total.
