Whoa! I just discovered that, when you click on site scores for a premium quiz, and then click any one score, and then click back - the site rankings then appear.

Yeah, I found that if I toggled between the top site page and the top player page and back, and then reloaded the page, the real site rankings came up.

Does Buzztime know the page is wonky?

I let them know of the problem on their Facebook site, and received a message that they were aware of the situation.

Here's the answer I received from Buzztime:

Alright, so what the tech team has told me is that the site was recently re-architectured and some of the information hasn't been transferring to the site correctly, hence the repeats. They are aware of the issue however, and they are currently working on a solution.

Well, hell. Sounds like the latest in a long, sad string of missteps.

Before getting to the Week 2 results, a tip o' the hat is in order for the venerable Grand Slam/BWW-Crystal City team for posting the win for the night. The Slammers have been a force to be reckoned with in these tournaments for twenty years now, and I reckon that's not going to end anytime soon.

So here are this week's results. Several teams bounced back from rough games last week, and others bounced forward(?) into rough games this week:

55931 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
53583 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
47959 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
47470 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
44978 Mad River, New York NY
44545 Old Barn, Portland OR
44206 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
42979 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
42841 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
42231 BWW-Blacksburg VA
41901 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
41635 Time Out, St. Louis MO
40626 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
40383 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
39636 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
39182 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
38428 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
38412 Teasers, Chicago IL
37186 BWW-Tallahassee FL
36377 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
35811 End Zone, Ironton OH
35499 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
34490 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
33527 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
32761 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
32160 Danny K's, Orange CA
31941 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
29840 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
29498 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
25730 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
23762 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
21746 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
19591 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
17192 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT

Adding last week's scores to this week's shows that The Slammers not only took first place on Tuesday, but also now lead the field in cumulative points, followed by The Fellowship and Big Guys. There is a deceptively large drop-off after that:

105511 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
103528 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
99618 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
91381 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
89291 Mad River, New York NY
87125 Teasers, Chicago IL
86390 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
85190 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
84180 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
83601 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
82508 Danny K's, Orange CA
81300 BWW-Blacksburg VA
81136 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
79975 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
78994 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
78039 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
74161 Old Barn, Portland OR
73608 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
72893 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
72635 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
66586 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
65650 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
65339 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
64923 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
63814 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
61677 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
60742 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
58448 End Zone, Ironton OH
57285 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
55390 BWW-Tallahassee FL
49623 Time Out, St. Louis MO
37160 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
34712 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
31605 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT

I say "deceptively large" because of course every team gets to drop a low score, which tightens things up considerably. The drop will come as a relief to several teams, not the least of which was The Ragged Rascals at BWW-Albuquerque, who quite unfortunately experienced a glitch during the pyramid round, depriving them of two questions. This (and similar such events) is one of the main reasons why the rules for years now have allowed a dropped score in the preliminary round. When low scores are dropped, the top three remain the same, but The Ragged Rascals ran round and round the rugged rocks into fourth place:

55,931 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
53,583 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
51,659 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
50,840 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
50,700 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
50,348 Danny K's, Orange CA
48,713 Teasers, Chicago IL
48,540 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
47,470 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
44,978 Mad River, New York NY
44,545 Old Barn, Portland OR
44,206 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
43,053 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
42,979 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
42,617 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
42,231 BWW-Blacksburg VA
41,901 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
41,635 Time Out, St. Louis MO
41,500 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
40,626 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
40,383 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
39,182 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
38,428 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
38,084 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
37,915 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
37,186 BWW-Tallahassee FL
35,841 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
35,811 End Zone, Ironton OH
35,499 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
34,645 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
33,527 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
21,746 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
19,591 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
17,192 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT

So there has been a lot of movement in the standings, but with two weeks to go in the preliminary round, there is plenty of time and room for more. Good skill to all teams this week!

One might feel more sympathy for the Rascals if they had anything to prove. But they've been consistently superb, now for many years. I would feel far worse for a site which is attempting to play its way into prominence, and suffered a similar glitch.

It goes without saying that BLZBUB isn't attending the right church; but I might not be, either. It's not that I'm not devout. We all want to play on a level field. Pestilence, death. hurricane, tablets - any number of things may intercede.

Yes, it's true that The Ragged Rascals are among the teams that can best afford to punt a game. But as a member of a team that has been increasingly frustrated with glitchy technology at my home location, I definitely feel sympathy for them--it is intensely frustrating.

Given his handle, perhaps BLZBUB should sacrifice a goat before the next game to be on the safe side. It may or may not do any good, but at least The Ragged Rascals can have some Curry Bakri while they play...

Because I had nothing to do with it (I was out of town Tuesday evening), I feel I can start this update by congratulating The Fellowship on its win last night. That the team pulled out the narrow win despite the fact that all the boxes stopped working during the pyramid round and that the location average was carried solely by its mobile-playmaker users makes the win all the more unlikely and impressive.

In fact, the last two times The Fellowship has won it has been when I have been out of town. If I find my tires slashed next Tuesday evening I may have some suspicion as to a motive...

Congrats, too, to Tailgate, BWW-Crystal City, West Park Station, and Mad River for being the only teams to crack 50k in what sounds like it was a difficult game.

What follows are the provisional standings--provisional because Houlihan's-Brick did not report out a score this week, and I will give it a day or two to see if a score shows up for that location before making the standings official.

First, this week's (provisional) scores:

58382 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
58100 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
54946 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
51836 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
51405 Mad River, New York NY
47138 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
46982 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
46290 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
44831 Danny K's, Orange CA
40115 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
39670 Old Barn, Portland OR
38059 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
36893 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
36366 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
36156 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
35236 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
35141 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
35051 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
35031 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
32375 BWW-Tallahassee FL
31723 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
31273 Time Out, St. Louis MO
30464 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
29508 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
29465 End Zone, Ironton OH
27319 Teasers, Chicago IL
24568 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
23949 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
18810 BWW-Blacksburg VA
16106 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT
15331 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
12079 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
12029 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
??? Houlihan's-Brick NJ

Next, the (provisional) cumulative scores. Ordinarily the cumulative scores don't mean much because every team gets to drop a low score. However, with only one week to go in the preliminary round these scores represent the absolute minimum score any team can post in the prelims, and can be helpful in assessing your team's mathematical chances to advance (see below):

161910 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
160457 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
149481 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
140696 Mad River, New York NY
134854 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
130583 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
127339 Danny K's, Orange CA
126505 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
119773 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
119321 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
116167 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
116131 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
115650 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
115360 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
114932 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
114444 Teasers, Chicago IL
113831 Old Barn, Portland OR
111940 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
110952 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
105331 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
100521 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
100110 BWW-Blacksburg VA
92336 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
91206 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
89907 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
87913 End Zone, Ironton OH
87765 BWW-Tallahassee FL
80896 Time Out, St. Louis MO
78615 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
77002 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
66668 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
61677 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
58661 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
47711 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT

As you can see, The Fellowship holds a small, 1,453-point lead over BWW-Crystal City for the top seed in the knockout round in these standings.

Finally, the (provisional) standings after dropping a low score, which is a better representation of where the tournament stands going into the final week of the preliminary round. If you add 63,750 points to this value for your team, you will get your maximum possible score to compare to the minimum possible scores above:

111965 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
110877 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
106640 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
99618 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
97822 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
96383 Mad River, New York NY
95179 Danny K's, Orange CA
94608 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI
89920 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
87125 Teasers, Chicago IL
86390 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
85190 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
84718 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
84215 Old Barn, Portland OR
84180 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
81300 BWW-Blacksburg VA
81136 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
81112 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
79975 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
78994 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
78794 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
73608 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
72908 Time Out, St. Louis MO
70550 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
69561 BWW-Tallahassee FL
66586 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
65339 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
65276 End Zone, Ironton OH
64923 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
63991 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
61677 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
51254 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
43540 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
33298 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT

In these standings, The Fellowship's lead gets even tinier (1088 points) and Tailgate is not too far behind. Thus, the top seed is very much up for grabs. Similarly, right now the bubble for making it to the knockout round sits in the very narrow 164-point margin between BWW-Blacksburg and Four Corners. Ten teams sit within 5,000 points each way of the bubble, making the final spots very much up for grabs, too.

The only teams that can breathe completely easily at this point are The Fellowship, BWW-Crystal City, and Tailgate: all of them have clinched a place in the knockout round (their minimum scores are higher than the 16th-highest maximum possible team score). By the same token, only two teams have been mathematically eliminated at this point, so it is a pretty wide-open field with one week left to play in the prelims.

Good skill to all this week!

Before getting to the standings, I'd like to congratulate Tilted Kilt for the win last night, with Danny K's and Big Guys hard on their heels. It seems a lot of teams brought their "A" games for the last week of the prelims.

Here are last night's standings for tournament teams:

59750 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
59230 Danny K's, Orange CA
58358 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
58347 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
56284 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
54613 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
54371 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
54111 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH
52745 Houlihan's, Westbury NY
52668 BWW-Oklahoma City OK
50926 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
49659 Teasers, Chicago IL
48124 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
47789 Old Barn, Portland OR

43318 Time Out, St. Louis MO
39345 Bilmar Station Town 'n' Country, Tampa FL
38032 Four Corners, Chapel Hill NC
36243 End Zone, Ironton OH
36032 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
35101 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
34869 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
34675 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
32808 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
28060 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
27987 Mad River, New York NY

24683 BWW-Tallahassee FL
22419 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
16985 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON
11335 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX

Adding these to all the previous scores gives the following cumulative scores for the preliminary round:

220257 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
215070 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
205765 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
193212 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB

146053 Wallaby's, Lenexa KS
144181 BWW-Blacksburg VA
143672 Broadway Bar and Grill, Nepean ON
138139 Humperdink's, Dallas TX
137513 Cedar Cottage, Vancouver CA
126075 KC's Time Out, Evansville IN
124214 Time Out, St. Louis MO
124156 End Zone, Ironton OH
113034 BWW-Bloomingdale IL
112448 BWW-Tallahassee FL
101242 Stadium Cafe, Addison TX
101034 Cameron's, Half Moon Bay CA
96352 Houlihan's-Brick NJ
91972 Meriden AOH, Meriden CT
86721 Adam's Mill, Manchester CT
83653 Moose McGuire's, Ottawa ON

Of course the total score doesn't really count for anything--it is the cumulative scores minus low scores that will determine seeding for the elimination round. Yet the top six are in the same order in both lists (top 16 teams are in bold):

170312 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
165490 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA

Several teams made some gains in seeding this last week, perhaps none as significantly as Scooter's, which hopped up from its position below the bubble to make it into the elimination round.

Before going on, I would like to thank all the teams that will not be advancing. You made it a robust field, and we all know that were it not for the vagaries of some individual games you very easily could have made it to the elimination round. I sincerely hope you will choose to play in the McCarthy Cup this spring.

So unless I am mistaken, here are the brackets for the knockout round:

1 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
16 Old Barn, Portland OR

8 West Park Station, Cleveland OH
9 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI

5 Danny K's, Orange CA
12 Houlihan's, Westbury NY

4 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB
13 Teasers, Chicago IL

6 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
11 BWW-Oklahoma City OK

3 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
14 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV

7 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
10 Mad River, New York NY

2 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA
15 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH

Wow--there are a lot of great matchups the first week. Congrats to all the teams who made it to the elimination round, and good skill next week!

Congratulations to Scooter's for matching our accomplishment. I believe we moved from 20th place up to 15th--and we did it with just four players on 7 boxes.

Of course the total score doesn't really count for anything--it is the cumulative scores minus low scores that will determine seeding for the elimination round. Yet the top six are in the same order in both lists (top 16 teams are in bold):

133314 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV
133105 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH

Good Luck to all, apologize for our performance at the Mill, but too many vacations and getting the full team together :(

Having dropped ARKUAT at his alley hermitage in south Minneapolis, I just got home from the Tailgate, and having nobody else to answer to, figured I'd drop a line to the Sandbaggers.

The Tailgate Sports Cafe placed six playmakers above 60K, and finished 7th nationwide, an unusual statistic. In this first week of head-to-head competition, we were matched against Scooters; and we were justifiably proud of our performance. If Scooters were a little twitchier, and pushed past us? Hats off, then, Scooters earned it. This was an unusually high scoring night, and there are bound to be disappointments among other sites which played well above average and yet got knocked out in head-to-head competition by opponents who played even better.

Having had a top individual score twice this year without breaking 60K, I thought BLZBUB's 63.5 was positively breathtaking. The Devil had his foot on the accelerator, and put Ken Z behind the wheel. Well played, the both of you.

My top gross - ever - was pre-9/11, when I fished up a 63,444 and finished in 8th place. There were seven other houses which hosted perfecto's that evening. Over the last twenty years, the as yet unasked questions grow ever more obscure, and we seldom see 63's any more.

If my Tailgate Sports Cafe actually did get past Scooters, we'll be matched against Beelzebub's Bullies, aka the Ragged Rascals, aka BWW Gibson, next week. And on behalf of Scooters, if they've survived: keep that dharma flowing. I want to be able to inform the players around me:

"Yeah, we lost. But we lost to the eventual champions."

We had a similar conversation after the game: "If Old Barn beat us, then they really deserve to go deep."

Speaking of the Devil: There was probably no way you could have known this, but the BLZBUB who snagged the top score was the one who plays with The Fellowship (both we and The Ragged Rascals play at BWWs, after all). He almost didn't come, but we were glad he did (except maybe for poor AUDREY, who had a perfecto going into the last question but bled some points as we settled on an answer).

I thought about that after I posted. There's no true religion in the Land of the Black Squirrel, either, is there? I might not know who I'm congratulating, but I'm congratulating him anyhow. Well played!

All of you.

Thanks! Our BLZBUB is a cardiac doctor, and an all-around good guy (for a Mephistopheles). He has been a great asset to the team since he started playing with us a couple of years ago.

I'm impressed you know about the Black Squirrels! I'm usually not much of a fan of rodents, but I always thought Kent State erred in choosing to create "Flash the Golden Eagle" as its mascot instead of the Black Squirrel.

Some of my idiot friends used to engage in hitch-hiking races to Kent. I think one of them was actually dating a Golden Flash. What she might have seen in him would have been anyone's guess.

It was a very competitive evening last night. Teaser's edged out The Fellowship for first place in Brainbuster by all of 99 points (7/10 of 1% of the points possible), and then The Fellowship returned the favor in Showdown by squeaking past Teaser's by 229 points (4/10 of 1%). Teaser's in turn just squeaked by its opponent for the evening, Big Guys. Nearly all of the rest of the remaining Sandbag Sweet 16 teams cracked 50k, making some of the margins quite close. Several teams can be forgiven for feeling a bit disappointed for doing so well only to fall to a team that did a little better.

There were a few upsets, none bigger than #15 Blue Goose's victory over perennial powerhouse BWW-Crystal City. Of course, as has been suggested in previous tournaments, by the time you get to this stage of a tournament there is really no such thing as a huge upset--every team that has made it this far is capable of beating every other team. Here are last night's results, with the winners in bold:

1 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH 62,507
16 Old Barn, Portland OR 58,614

8 West Park Station, Cleveland OH 51,069
9 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI 60,527

5 Danny K's, Orange CA 60,943
12 Houlihan's, Westbury NY 55,707

4 Big Guys, Winnipeg MB 61,638
13 Teasers, Chicago IL 62,278

6 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM 58,653
11 BWW-Oklahoma City OK 49,931

3 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN 61,115
14 Scooter's, Las Vegas NV 54,356

7 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ 61,642
10 Mad River, New York NY 57,627

2 BWW-Crystal City (Arlington) VA 57,328
15 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH 59,114

Before posting the quarterfinal matchups, I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to congratulate and thank the teams that will not be advancing. They are among the cream of the Showdown crop and proved it by making it to the Sweet 16 in a tough field. I expect to see all of you in the McCarthy Cup this spring.

So the quarterfinal matchups are as follows:

1 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
9 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI

5 Danny K's, Orange CA
13 Teasers, Chicago IL

6 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM
3 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN

7 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ
15 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH

There are so many great matchups here: Two former Sandbag champions meet in the 1 v. 9 match, and the current champion meets a team that has won more games this year in the 5 v. 13 match. BWW-Albuquerque and Tailgate are a couple of this year's hottest teams, both ranked in the top 5 for 2017. And Blue Goose has demonstrated that they are a threat regardless of its seeding, so the gang in Scottsdale will need to bring its "A" game. Nearly all of these teams, I think, have made the finals of one tournament or another, so it could be anyone's trophy at this point.

Good skill to all this week, especially The Fellowship's friends in Kalamazoo! When we realized we would be facing you last night, we were still marveling over how you drove five hours each way to hand-deliver the Sandbag Trophy to us (full of buckeyes, no less!) back in the day. You ever have been a class act.

Hey! I had much more hair back then, and actually looked like I might have been going places. ;)

As promised, it was a series of great matchups last night. The gang at Teaser's in particular may be forgiven for feeling a bit disappointed today: they beat every other team in the world last night, except for the one they were facing in the tournament.

Here are last night's results (winners in bold):

1 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH 58,376
9 K-zoo Krew, BWW-Kalamazoo MI 26,748

5 Danny K's, Orange CA 60,194
13 Teasers, Chicago IL 58,537

6 The Ragged Rascals, BWW-Albuquerque NM 44,005
3 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN 46,087

7 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ 48,801
15 Blue Goose, Cincinnati OH 43,461

To the Ragged Rascals, Blue Goose, The K-Zoo Krew, and Teaser's, please accept sincerest congratulations for a great tournament run. To make the quarterfinals in a field this deep is a badge of honor, and we expect you to make some noise in the McCarthy Cup this spring.

This leaves the semi-final matchups as follows:

1 The Fellowship, BWW-Kent OH
5 Danny K's, Orange CA

3 Tailgate Sports Cafe, Minneapolis MN
7 Tilted Kilt, Scottsdale AZ

Everyone loves a good Cinderella story, but alas, there are absolutely no Cinderellas here this year. One match is between the defending Sandbag champion and a multiple previous champion in a match that could easily be the final game in any given year. The other is between two top-ten teams with three Sandbag semifinal appearances each. Prince Charming is just going to have to be content with a coterie of some of the usual top-pedigree teams this year.

Good skill to all semifinalists, and a special extension of best wishes from The Fellowship to Danny K's. I'm just glad we didn't have to meet any earlier than this.

Congrats to all the winners tonight in the Showdown Tournament. Naturally we are disappointed to lose to Danny K's, but this isn't the first time that it has happened. We are looking forward to seeing the semifinals next week.

CLIPPR - Teaser's (the loyal 2nd tier opposition)

I add my congratulations as well to Danny K's.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. First board and second bar. What more do we need to do? Is there no balm in Gilead?
