1. Walk on the Moon [I (REACH, LESTER) pre-called this at Buster's Bar, Ottawa ON; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Cernan ]

2. Funeral [Chris (CEEZED, KAYZED) pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catafalque ]

3. Mexican [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_L ... Santa_Anna ]

4. Body of water [I pre-called "Ocean"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photic_zone ]

5. Falcon [Chris got this right; I wrongly called for "Wildcat". See the section "Etymology" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon ]

6. Muckamuck [Myfanwy (SPRAJO, GIJOE) or Sue (SWIFT, ACE) called this one first; see https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/muckamuck ]

7. Heart attack [Chris called this one; see the section "The Godfather" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vito_Corleone ]

8. Pig [I pre-called this one; see https://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/2019.htm ]

9. Geographical [Chris pre-called this one (desert); see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wadi ]

10. Meal [see https://www.dictionary.com/browse/repast ]

11. Captain Blood [I called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Blood_(novel) and for the Errol Flynn movie, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Blood_(1935_film) ]

12. Astronomy [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutation ]

13. Interpol [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Jong_Yang (he replaced a controversial Chinese nominee, as China does not necessarily follow a rules-based international order).]

14. All'ottava [Chris got 1000 Points each as CEEZED & KAYZED; the rest of us missed "ottava"="octave"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octave ]

15. Americans [I called this one; see the section "Nicknames" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Red_Sox ]

16. Copper [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azurite ]

17. Tom Ripley [I pre-called the wrong Answer; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Ripley (from the movie, it's hard to believe The Talented Mr. Ripley could carry 5 novels).]

18. Tombstone [We missed most of the Points, as I pre-called "throw here" (as "alea iacta est"="the die is cast"); see the section "Word origin and History" at https://www.dictionary.com/browse/hic-jacet which says "iacet"="it lies" from "iacere"="to lie, rest", related to "iacere"="to throw". I suppose when dice are thrown, the number is determined when they come to rest (lie down).]

19. Canthus [I called this after eliminating the other Choices; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canthus . Afterwards, I remembered the "epicanthal fold" is a feature of Asiatic eyes.]

24.(a) Medan [Chris guessed right again, but the rest of us missed most of the Points; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medan ]

25.(a) Vulcan [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulcanization ]

26.(a) Pharsalus [I called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Pharsalus ]

27.(a) Brighton [Sue pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brighton ]

29. Australia [I split my choices, guessing right as LESTER; see https://www.sbs.com.au/news/israel-welc ... m-decision ]

30. 90 [I pre-called "30" (Celsius = 86 Fahrenheit), but others noted the unit was Fahrenheit; since chocolate melts at body temperature (37 Celsius = 98.6 Fahrenheit exactly), we went with "90". See https://whatscookingamerica.net/chocolateMelting.htm ]

31. Enigma [I split, guessing right as REACH, but not as LESTER; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enigma_(2001_film) ]

35. Arctic [I pre-called this one; see https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/whi ... owest.html ]

36. The Barber of Seville [I pre-called this one, although "Figaro" would have been a sufficient Clue for everyone; see https://www.britannica.com/topic/Count-Almaviva ]

37. Vanderbilt [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltmore_Estate ]

38. Cicero [I split between Cicero (as REACH) and Seneca (as LESTER) to cover the two most likely Choices; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salus_pop ... a_lex_esto ]

40. Lord Byron [Sue pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Caroline_Lamb ]

The first BUSINESS TERMS question gave us the names of two well known speculators (that I forget) but we were able to recognize them as CORPORATE RAIDERS.
The second Business Terms question was more difficult. It described the way a crooked broker sells non-existent stock to cuStomers. This was done by a "bucket shop," so Buzztime's answer was BUCKET.

The second DICKENS CHARACTERS question gave us the names of two characters, and we were able to identify them as coming from the novel LITTLE DORRIT.

The first "Ancient Rome" question asked something like "What was the basis of early Roman law?" (THE TWELVE TABLES)

We have a hockey fan who wanted to take MINOR LEAGUE HOCKEY in the Category round but he was unanimously outvoted. I told him I would try to find out what the Q's were. Anybody here take it?

The first Minor League Hockey question was something like "Which minor league has teams in [some cities]?" I don't recall the cities, but they might have included Hershey and Rochester. The answer was the American Hockey League.

The second question was "Which minor league hockey town is incorrectly matched with its team's nickname?" The distractors were the Kalamazoo Wings, Idaho Steelheads, Florida Everblades, and Newfoundland Growlers. The correct answer was the Fort Wayne Bushwhackers. Fort Wayne is home to the Komets.
