Noting that one of the categories for this week's game is "Music For Old People" stirs a memory of a game from about seven years ago when WRATH brought his then-teenage daughter (BOO) to play at Stringz and Wingz.

We love having our young'uns play with us and like to encourage them to feel like part of the team, although we understand if they sometimes feel more like spectators through a lot of arcane questions that they could not be expected to know. Then it happened: one of the questions that popped up during the Countdown Round was, "Billie Joe Armstrong is the front man for this band:" Excited, we turned smiling to BOO to let her do the honors of calling it out. She looked at us blankly for second, and then said something to the effect of "What? I don't know the oldies!"

WRATH, myself, and several other players of a certain age audibly groaned at the deep, deep wound these words inflicted on us.

Now that I am seven years even older than then, I am actually looking forward to this category. But in the back of my mind I wonder if the question-writer at Buzztime will think Puff Daddy and Backstreet Boys will be fair game for these questions.

I grew up on 80’s music, love it still and listen to it constantly. When Glory Daze started pulling from that genre I was hurt more than a little bit.

Perhaps that’s why I stopped playing that game on Tuesdays.

Buzztime's definition of Music For Old People is usually something like, "What 2010 hit song..." :D

Coming up soon on Playback "the 1950s" for all you old people.

I guess BT was listening to all the complaints about Selena Gomez and Jay Z and went too far the other way.

70s, 80s and 90s rock works for me.

1920's. 30's, and 40's works for me. :)

edit: No, I'm not that old... I was born in 1955, allegedly the year rock n' roll started... But I refuse to take any blame for it. :)

If never having heard of Billie Joe Armstrong is proof of Gen Z, may I propose myself as the world's second-oldest teenager, after XTRAIN?
