This game was almost too perfect for my style. I had over 57K solo despite whiffing two whole questions (both sports).

Excellent solo score Pig.

I take it the two whiffed sports Q's were in the Marathon Round?

Even more impressive, then, to nail a 57k without the 2k end-of-round bonus.

Also, thanks for starting an individual Six game thread. In the final days of the BT forums we had precious few of those, and attempts to discuss individual games were drowned out by hand wringing & gnashing of teeth over the order of the categories in the Marathon Round.

One thing I've learned is that the best place not to know an answer is in Round 3(a) - the first set of the Marathon Round. They usually give you a clear clue before you bleed more than 300 points. But you don't wanna see something you don't know in Round 3(c), fer sur.

Now, I'd rather get something I didn't know in Round 3(a) than in Easy Six. Sometimes I fret so much over the "stupid clue" that I watch the clock tick down as I'm trying to figure out what the silly pun is rather than answer the question itself. It's only 750 points if you blow an Easy Six Q, but that would be especially demoralizing early in the game. Then I'd end up stewing over my own stupidity from 9:06-9:11, Eastern Time. Good thing it really is Easy Six.

Actually, one was the Nap Lajoie Q in the 1st round (I may have to start paying attention to the embedded clues), and one was the career points scored in the NBA from the matching round. I thought David Robinson probably had the most points of those listed, not the fewest.

It would have been poetic justice. Yomamy stopped playing last night during Lexitopia

Elvin Hayes, I think.

Right. The order, IIRC, was Hayes, Ewing, Pettit, Robinson. I had Robinson, Hayes, Ewing, Pettit, worth exactly 0. The bottom 2 were within about 100 of each other.

I definitely wouldn't have put Robinson at the bottom of that list. Tough question.
