Congratulations to Sakic for the #1 individual ranking and Clancy's for their #1 bar ranking. Also to be commended are Buffalo Wild Wings and Torrey Pines (Did you guys share answers?) in Las Vegas, NV and Emerson Biggins for their consistently top showings.

Hooter's in Tallahassee, FL has Matt (Zippy), Jorge (L Pato), Ken (Kendo) Rhonda (RMAC--and yes she helped us), Richard (TPG), and the unflappable Arthur as Himself. The evening started out with a surprise visit from Jay (Conman) and Beth (Forget her handle at the moment) old Varsity Grill cronies who now live in Monticello, about 30 miles east of Tallahassee.
After a second straight #2 Sports IQ ranking we're ready to try to duplicate last week's success.

It's a strange night of incorrect answers being called out (yes I was guilty too) then corrected (I offered the MVP of '75 and '76 was Joe Morgan, not Johnny Bench in the Marathon Round as Matt first announced). We were all over the place on members of Funk Groups on the Matching Round. We also wondered if Cheboygan, bordering Lake Huron, was a misspell of Sheboygan but looking at Wikipedia, apparently not. In the Final Question Round how many times have I answered in Sports IQ Jose Theodore was Hart Trophy Winner of 2002 even though he was a goalie (Do MLB pitchers win MVP's?) but call out Jagomir Jagr. Luckily Jorge is answering louder, no it's #3, not #2. Matt answers the Tempest for the final Final Question and it's Love's Labour Lost completing our tanking for the night. Yet we finish #8 and still rank #1 in EST4. See everyone next Monday for the final July game.

Thanks for the props. It was a combination of questions up my alley (Theodore for example, after very slight hesitation), listening to MEEE on the many ones he knew (as per usual), and a lotta luck (Love's Labour?? Let's go with the answer I've never heard of)..

If you think Six is so stupid on Mondays, you don't have to play it!

I have enjoyed the Smartest Bar, both in May and in July, although the July games have been more challenging, on a level to be expected from a "Smartest Bar" competition. Definitely looking forward to September.

Like many people in the West, I think repeat games are for chumps. And, like many people in the West, I don't consider myself a chump, and thus decline to play the repeat premium games. So Wednesday and Thursday Six just aren't going to happen for me until the colossal idiocy of the Split ceases to be.

The Monday Six Smartest Bar game has the virtue of being truly national. People in the West who play the repeat Wednesday and Thursday Six aren't "big dogs." I consider the word for them to be "chumps."
