New Scaratings

The September free ride came to a crashing halt tonight. Two different questions in the matching round just defied belief:

Given 4 cities, match them to the number of political conventions they've hosted.(Chicago, Boston, NY, Denver) wtf?

Given 4 NFL franchises, match them to the number of Monday Night Football victories they have garnered.(Pitt, Miami, Dallas, Green Bay) Again, wtf?

At that point I changed strategies and started drinking Vodka & Red Bull heavily. Said strategy worked like a charm as I aced nearly all of the remaining questions (with a perfect Final Round) to finish with 55K and in the National Top 20 (at least before the overnights). That makes two Top 20's and three Top 100's this month.

Yes...yes I know the best Six players are all tied up with the Smartest Bar stuff on Mondays, but give a wetware-only, non-every-week Six-er a chance to enjoy his 15 minutes. Playing at Hooters should give me a few thousand bonus points due to all of the distractions.

(e.t.a) As expected, the overnight updates pushed me out of the Top 20, but still in the Top 30. Still not bad for a night I almost swore off booze, trivia, and sniffing glue halfway into the game.

I flailed and got only Denver right on the conventions, and went zero for the MNF victory totals.

Odd

Tough game this week, didn't think we were doing well. Those 2 qs mentioned above were odd ones, I think we got 2 on both of the conventions and NFL.

We still ended #1 as shown on the screens. Not sure if that held up.
