Only 2 weeks left in the competition.

I will be setting up the next Six Challenge for about 4 to 6 months from now. If anyone has any dates that are not good for a location, let me know so we can avoid scheduling issues so everyone can play. The idea is to have the competition either once or twice a year. Thoughts?

Twice a year sounds good, so starting again in Jan or Feb.?

Post subject:  Re: The SIX Challenge

Agreed. Twice a year is good. Jan/Feb works. My only suggestion for the next go-round: Shorten the length od the competition from three months to two. Everything else is good.

Post subject:  Re: The SIX Challenge

i would like to see maybe three months on then three months off. that would give us two good tournaments a year. if you are up for it, mudee, that is what i would like to see. also, i would like november to be an off month, mostly because of thanksgiving.

anyway, thanks again for putting this together. our team loves any competition so we really appreciate this.

I was also thinking of skipping the holiday months. I believe we will start the next one in February, January is a busy month for me.

I was also thinking we should cut it back to a 2 month competition.

If we start the sign ups the 1st of January that should be ample time for teams to make up their mind.

Results from last night. Not too pretty for team lucky break. The volume of the football games last night was so loud at our location that nobody could hear each other. That being said, Team Lucky Break will officially be Team 480 as of next week. We are moving to Max and Ted's 480 Bar. http://www.buzztime.com/site/39453

Congrats to Walsh's on last nights win.

Walsh's Bar and Grill...56,125
West Park Station.......55,567
Buffalo Wild Wings......53,162
Lucky Break...............43,677
Runyon's...................40,942

Thanks to all the teams and players for the great competition!

Thank you very much. We certainly enjoyed the competition and the chance to do this since the Smartest Bar was MIA this year. Looking forward to defending our title in February and I'm hoping we have even more teams out there ready and willing to compete.

Yes, congrats Cvavra and co. Good work over all those months. How many players do you have at Walsh's most weeks? Clipper/Stoic doesn't seem to show up all weeks.

It varies depending on the game. For the Six tournament, there was a core group of five players of myself, Ro, Illini, Merkin, and Clippr/Stoic (along with second boards for ourselves, as needed). We agreed to play at Walsh's for the tournament mostly from a geographical standpoint and it worked out nicely. And you're right that Clippr/Stoic didn't play every week. Ro and I were the only ones, I believe, who played all 13 weeks for the tournament. We had a couple of guest players here and there, but primarily it was the five of us playing during the competition.

Nice job with 5 people for the most part.

We're at about 4, sometimes 5 people, playing extra boxes of course.
At BWW Gaithersburg on Thur we usually have myself, KEN K & ISSUES with occasional showings by IAUTAH, BATJAC, FREEZR and DRAGON.

On Fri and Sat nights we add BARPIG, W ONE and OPIEE.

We see Walsh's on the boards those 3 nights.

Tell Pete BUD said hello.

Your arrangement sounds a bit like us. The core group consists of myself, Ro, and Illini. Nascar and Tbrezy often play The Pulse with us on Monday (no, we don't much care for the game and we pray for the return of Sports IQ or The Season). Merkin often joins us on Fridays along with Nascar and Annmre/Shaun on an occasional basis. I'm absent from Fridays until the high school football season is over. Saturdays its usually the core group, though our attendance is spotty mainly because of life and other events getting in the way. Oh well.

And I'll let him know next time I see him (or maybe he'll catch this the next time he visits).

Merk could be there more often if he wasn't sitting at home "wearing out" his copy of Personal Best every chance he gets...

our numbers at west park station have really taken a hit since i have been working out of town. timmy told we started last week with two. there were more by the end i understand, but i'm not sure how many.

that is no excuse because walsh's was beating us before i left when we were playing with five or six. they would have won this tournament either way.
