Twice in the past three weeks I've been tripped up, while playing Smartest Bar, by the very final question of the quiz: the Arts category in the Pick-Your-Poison Round. In both instances the question referenced recent pop music. I've played this quiz enough to know the lay of the land, but I've never understood why recent pop music is regarded as Art rather than Entertainment. I suppose the rationale is that opera and orchestral music are Art; and pop music is also music; therefore they belong in the same category of questions and should not be split between two categories.

But Buzztime's content crew doesn't apply this rationale uniformly. It has no qualms about placing theatrical plays in Art, and movies in Entertainment. In both examples {plays vs movies} and {opera vs pop} the two most obvious, salient differences are of 1) scale and 2) applied technology. Am I alone in finding this situation odd?

The third category in Six is called "The Shows", not "Entertainment", so tv, film, and stage productions fit there, but not so much recorded music of any genre. When Six underwent its overhaul some number of years ago, pop music was right-placed from category 3 to category 6.

Now if you want to gripe about why astrology sometimes shows up in The Sciences ...
