2018 MUDEE Memorial Six Challenge 5
Hi all, BUD and I have scheduled the return of the Thursday Six Challenge. The tournament will be similar to the way MUDEE did it, but not as long.
MUDEE ran the first three episodes of this tournament. This is installment #5. The first three winners were Walsh's, Concert Pub, West Park Station and now back to Walsh's. Can your team wrestle the trophy from MERKIN's vice grip? Maybe, but you have to sign up to find out.

The tournament will run from May 31, 2018 through June 28, 2018. The winner will be the team/location with the best total score for four out of the five weeks for Thursday Six. Each team will be able to drop a score for one of the five weeks. If your team needs to change locations, let IDJT know in advance of the Six game and the scores at the alternate location will be counted.

The scoring system is pretty straightforward. It is expected that the teams will play all wetware since that is now the accepted culture. To participate you will be asked to post to scaratings, Badbart, Facebook, or to email IDJT at idjit5500@yahoo.com by midnight May 27, 2018.

As stated last year we are now a very fractured community and BUD and I will probably not be able to get this message to all the teams that may want to participate. So I ask that if you know of a team that might like to participate or a team that you would like to compete against please contact them and let them know about this tournament. We had twelve teams last year, and BUD and I would like to honor MUDEE with an even larger field this year.

The winner of the tournament will receive the red Six Challenge Trophy custom made by MUDEE to hold until we hold the next tournament in 2019. The winner this year will be obligated to forward the trophy to next year's winner. BUD and I will continue to run the tournament ourselves for the foreseeable future so the winner will not be required to administer the tournament next year.

Let's have a great competition and let's have another great tribute to MUDEE.

Excellent write up and great tribute to Mudee. For those that don't recall, Mudee was a great guy from AZ who was into dune buggies, race cars and trivia, too bad he passed away before his time.

BWW Gaithersburg MD is in.
See you all on Thursdays.

You meant to say MERKIN's cold, dead hands, right?

Walsh's will enter to defend our crown.

Boomerz Austin TX has said they will play.

So that's makes 8 bars. Still missing some big names that already play every Thur.

Where's:
BWW Gibson NM? BLZBUB??
B52 MN? Gone D?
Fiddlesticks CO?
Lonas CA?
Shannons CA?
Bobalouies FL?
Bogarts CA?
BWW Henderson NV?
Cafe Cottage LA?
Boneyard WI?
Mission Oaks CA?
Post Haus BC?
Wooden Nickel WI?
BWW Kent OH? (Anon, sort of, but not really)

Of course many of those bars aren't present on Scar, FB or Badbart so we will take any bar who thinks they can play on other nights besides Tues. But you guys probably can't play Thur SIX very well. You guys aren't well rounded enough to handle Sports and a few entertainment Qs

Having been called out, I'll see what I can pull together.

There's actually only one player in my milieu who plays Thursday Six routinely, and I am not she. The two couples who play as Team Rob are both taking long, out-of-state vacations sometime in June. I've asked the illustrious JOHNL whether he'd be interested. Then there are a handful of locals who play Six once or twice a month.

Let me get back to you. This shouldn't be as difficult as I imagine it to be.

Great, thank you for poking around to see who's available. Whoever played last year made a decent showing if I recall. Also, whoever has been playing this year so far are 2nd in average bars score. But June vacations could hurt that.

I woke up this morning to find, to my surprise and pleasure, that I've now got three full-time and four part-time players lined up, with more to respond. So B-52 is a solid go.

BWW Salisbury MD will play the Mudee Six tournament. That will be GOD on 6 boxes plus another guy on 1 box in case GOD's boxes have battery trouble. You would think being GOD he would know which boxes to avoid straight out of the charger.

That makes 11 bars, who else played last year that's not in yet?

And why does He let certain boxes suffer so?

I used to play Showdown with a young lawyer named Dan, whose handle was GOD. Whether he is eventually appointed to the bench? This question is at least a decade premature.

I doubt whether any of you trinitarians are much distressed to learn that there is more than one, possibly as many as six in a single saloon.

If anyone wants to swap or trade, I have a Sabbatei Zevi rookie card.

I'll give you a Menachem Schneerson for it.

Ah, Schneerson! The Lubavitcher Rebbe was the last of the Brooklyn greats.

My old pal Moshe Silver (Oberlin '76) was one of his congregants.

We had planned to get our team together for a "practice" game last Thursday, but we got kicked out of Mad River because they were having a private party. Some of the team went out to BWW Forest Hills to find four working boxes. They tried to start a fifth with the app for cellphones, but that kept shutting the person using it out of the game. Such is the state of Buzztime in New York. Wish they could find a bar that keeps enough boxes working and also values us as customers. We'll attempt to compete anyway.

Thanks for the upcoming effort Xtrain. It has been noted what you and some of the bars will go through to play this tournament. 2 teams will be solo or 2 players. Hope Mad River is done with parties for 5 weeks.

Still wondering what's going on in Albuquerque, they seem to play most Thur? Guess Blzbub, Duff and co have better things to do this time of year?

Any other bars thinking about playing? Give it a shot.

Just saw the edited team list far above. We now have 13 with the addition of Caffe Cottage La and bww Kent OH. Thanks guys for the silent and possibly anonymous entries.

Good luck and welcome if you are reading this.

Right. TED and JBP said they'd play, and a few of other Tuesday night players (RAMBUC, PSTRJU, ZIGGY, JENNY, and maybe one or two others) said they'd try to help out when they can. Alas, I will be unable to play, much as I'd like to.
