New Scaratings

It wasn't synesthesia, but some other confusion which overcame me, when Thursday Six inquired on which peninsula Greece is southernmost, and the answer wasn't the Balkan Peninsula.

I was put in mind not of Greece, but of Steve Carlton's stout left arm. When it comes to balkin', Lefty's angular appendage holds the Major League record. He committed 90 of 'em.

The players at Ben's Pourhouse may have laughed loudest, but the players at Walsh's laughed best. Personally, I was out of the money before the Matching Round had scarcely commenced. So I wasn't laughing at all. I was just confused.

Should I offer MERKIN and his homeys congratulations for defeating a convention of players in Thursday Six? Nah.

He's got enough skins on the wall already.
