Format: Weeks 1&2 (8/21 & 8/28) - best 1 of 2 scores to determine and seed the top 32 locations.
Weeks 3 through 7 (9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2) - 5 rounds of single elimination. The final round of the simulation is one week later than the championship round of the actual tournament.

If the quiz closes on Sept 25, there are only two more sessions. So there should only be four sites left in an elimination format.

Yes. For the two (or perhaps three) finalists, the bracket simulation extends one week longer than the actual. It was Buzztime that shortened the actual from 7 to 6 weeks this year, and I kept the simulation the same as last year.
