But I would never be that way.

Mark a big win down for Walsh’s. Now we are getting into an interesting Challenge!

Another pretty hard game compared to a few months ago, in my opinion, in Walsh’s opinion maybe not. They probably had 20 boxes going though.

I forgot to post yesterday before the game that Tower Pub MO needed to change to Vettes in MO. So don’t overlook that score.

Also good games by Time Out and AOH. Red Fox in 2nd but you know a little below their norm.

Congrats to Walsh's for the win and the fantastic score! We actually thought we had done OK for the tournament until the rankings came out. It looks like we have some catching-up to do the next couple of weeks...

Thank you very much Bud and Anon.We had 9 people (15 boxes) and hit every question but one. My fault for being a little late focusing my attention to the sub-atomic particle matching coming out of the break, which cost me and most the first pick and subsequent confusion on that one. Crown was smart enough not to listen, though, and went through matching clean. The only other what if was on Ivan III. I knew it was not Ivan the Terrible (Ivan IV), so we split on the other two and all saved the bonus. In the last round, I called Java Man and Guam, Cvavra precalled Serena Southerlyn in a tape measure shot, I called Pacific Fur and (to quote Anon) The Greek Chorus finished with John Mackey and Medusa.

Guam ironically had been in some of our thoughts lately. GRMLOK, one of the mainstays at Teaser's, suffered his father passing away Aug 21 at the age of 98 years, 8 months. He had recently told us the shocking stories of the WW II campaign there where his father served in 1944. Thanks to Henry Prokop and millions like him for his service and may he rest in peace.

As to Bud's remark, we found last night easier than he did, but of course one's momentum is only as strong as the next question in these games, so I know that can change. I have the greatest respect for our friends on Ohio in particular and the entire field. I recall a couple historical quotes about that but I will keep them to myself on the small chance that they will come up next week and the even smaller chance that Anon or Tuebor or Reb or any of the others won't know them.

Congratulations to Walsh's as the winners of the 2020 Mudee Thur Six Challenge.

Well done Merkin and co., thank you to Red Fox for playing this time and giving Walsh's a run for the Trophy.
I understand many teams were severely depleted in terms of players, as we were. Having to play from home was not the best especially if you couldn't talk with your teammates, as it turned out was the way we played it at SGP.
Thank you all for giving the best try possible.
We will look back and say glad we were able to get this in during the covid shutdown when many thought it wasn't possible.
14 teams this year same as 2019. Thank you to all who slogged through all 5 weeks.
Let's hope that there will be a 2021 SIX Challenge.

Yes, Congrats to Walsh's on a terrific game and tournament!

It was a bit of a frustrating night for The Fellowship. Right before the final round started, the Wi-Fi at Red Fox went out. This meant not only that everyone who was playing on a box at Red Fox was screwed, but also that the Discord communication we had with the team members playing from home went out, too. While this cost us somewhere north of 2,000 points off our team score when the dust settled, of course this would have made no difference at all to the outcome of the game or the tournament.

So, a tip of the hat to Walsh's, and a question: Which means more to you--getting the trophy, or making The Fellowship take the steak knives this time?

I can't speak for Merkin, but for me, it's the trophy.

I felt like we were in good shape when we got all the soap opera matches correct. Our resident expert in such things, Ro, handled that with ease.

After being sent to the steak knife drawer at least four times by The (Red Fox) Fellowship on various Tuesday tournaments, 49.9% of me votes for the one on one win, but Walsh's will certainly take our third Six Challenge Title in the six or seven playings (glad that was not a question). See the Bad Bard facebook site for our team picture.

So, congratulations to the team: Walsh's stalwarts Matt (RO/CROWN), Chris (CVAVRA/PROA), Rick (ILLINI/GOSOX), Rey (NASCAR/THT) Anna (TATEM/TATEM2), James (VESTE), Colleen (COL), Eric (ELOCK/AARON) and guest stars from Teasers and other locations former and current Frank (ZARGE), Austin (CRAY/RAYLAN) and Dave (ATOMIC/QUARK). It was a thrill under the tent Thursday and is great every night we can get together.

We look forward to the trophy coming home.

And as most if not all readers of this thread would agree, we now look forward to an opportunity to stage something similar next year for this or a new trophy. And of course, next year Calvinball rules!

West Park as the defending champs from 2019 can, at their leisure, send the SIX trophy to Merkin as much as they hate too. The more restricted teams would love to see an *. But we had to play it as best we could and thanks to all who did.
I will send a blank brass plaque to Merkin as well, to engrave and place on the wood base. There are 4 bar names on the top of trophy and there will be 3 plaques on the base. Should be room for 5 more on the front of the wood base if the plaques have been affixed correctly.

It looks like we should be ok for a Thur SIX tourney in 2021. The plan seems to be for eGames.com to continue Buzztime as is. If for some reason SIX is not being played next Summer we will find a new Buzztime game to put in it's place with the same trophy. No need to bring a new trophy into the mix.

TIMUR and ANON, you guys are now on the clock for the Showdown Tourney.
