It's about time to get this Thur SIX tournament #8 rolling again for 2021. Thanks goes to Merkin and the Walsh's crew (defending champs) for getting Jim/IDJT and I off our butts and onto a schedule that is behind last year for sure.
We will start on Thur Sept 23rd and run for 5 weeks through Thur Oct 21st. The top 4 out of 5 bar scores will count, as they are found in the BT HOF. Guest player scores will not count, everyone needs to be registered.
If there is a large disruption in the game such as a lock up or a repeat game or similar situation at 50% or more of the entered locations we will not count that week and move the schedule forward a week. If a team needs to change bars during the Challenge that is fine as long as notification of the new bar is given by 8:30 eastern time on game day.
3 game minimum for this year’s Six Challenge #8. If Buzztime goes dark (unlikely this year) after 1 or 2 games the competition doesn’t count. If we get through 3 games the total score will count as is. If we get through 4 or 5 games there will be a drop score.
Now the most important part....ALL entries must say publicly on here or on FB (wherever they enter) that their entire team will not cheat in any way. That includes cheating the lag, logging into more than one bar, texting/talking with someone in another bar, looking up answers digitally or by book/paper. There are some known lag cheaters, Merkin and I mostly know who they are and their score will be removed from any bar score should those handles appear. Any other forms of cheating will not be allowed and teams will be disqualified. I didn't want to name names yet, on here, of the lag cheaters but they are widely known. There are probably ones unknown so help us ferret them out.
The winner will get the MUDEE Thur SIX Challenge trophy, now on a nice wood base because of lack of room for more plates, to hold for about a year till the 2022 Challenge. I have several more identical plates for engraving and mounting on the base. The 2021 winner can help administer the next Challenge if they like but the rules and format will not change to honor MUDEE from AZ (RIP).
Merkin as captain of the defending champs will help this year and probably do the score keeping/posting on that. (we'll check him
) He may want to add in a fun interesting 2nd game that will not affect the SIX Challenge scoring. Just a bonus, probably nerdy, add on??

Deadline to enter is Thur Sept 23rd. 7pm eastern time. 14 teams last year during the 2020 Covid. Thank you all for playing last year and I hope it helped you get through those Thursdays just a little bit better. I'm really happy we went ahead with that as best we could.
We are not done with Covid yet but we should still be able to get 15 or more teams esp. if the Showdown teams come out to play??? No action on the McCarthy so you might as well play this SIX Challenge??
Merkin, let us know what I missed. I purposely left out the subject of playing Remote or playing In Bar as there are many teams that need to play remote. We may have to let teams play from wherever. Thoughts from anyone on that?

. Very sincere thanks to Bud at Stained Glass, who as commissioner has been the driving force behind the tournament throughout the years and this year (with a little help from myself in scorekeeping and scheduling). Walsh's looks forward to defending the trophy next September. Here's hoping that Buzztime and all of us (and anyone else who wants in) will be available to compete for it then.
