It's almost Memorial Day weekend so why not put the introductory post on here about the.....

2022 MUDEE Thur SIX Challenge #9 starting this fall. Yes, a little early but might as well save some dates.

Jim/IDJT, Lorin/MERKIN and myself Andy/BUD have agreed on the dates for this fall: Thur Sep 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, & 13.
Hopefully there won't be any overlap with the Sandbag Showdown dates. Very tough to run 2 tourneys in the same weeks.

Best 4 out of 5 scores. Same rules as before, remote play is ok as long as all players are logged into 1 bar only. No outside communication to other bars, No reference look up etc.

Full rules later closer to the fall but feel free to sign your team up now if you know you will be playing SIX on Thur this Sept/Oct.

Thank you MUDEE (RIP) from Arizona for coming up with this Challenge and making the custom metal top of our nice SIX trophy that has been gathering dust in IL for far too long.

Atop the ATM?? Ack....don't let someone steal that nice trophy. I don't know if you have crowds of rowdy drunks around Walsh's...aside from your group that is.

If you all recall the Passport Cup tournament from the early 2000s that I ran and bought the $150 trophy. That nice trophy was residing in Long Beach CA at Shannon's. It was taken down from it's perch one night by some college kids who proceeded to drink from it and who knows what else. A few days later the Wed. Passport players asked about it being missing and the bartender said it was probably put up in the attic for safekeeping. Months later it was discovered to not be up there, it had been stolen that night and probably paraded around Long Beach. Passport was dumped by Buzztime shortly after, because they had run out of locations to feature, so it didn't matter except that the last winner in 2007 got nothing that I recall. (There will always be Paris)

So, be careful where you store these Trophies. When the McCarthy Cup was here in DC for long periods of time it would safely sit atop a rack of equipment in the DJ booth at the Grand Slam. It was pretty far out of reach except by me when I dropped congratulatory notes to future winners in it.

I believe I saw on FB Badbart that Time Out West IL will play so that’s 2!

Sure you can change your name to whatever you want even Pepe the love goat if you’ll enter the tournament and play 4 out of 5 games.

I’m likely to have just me so it would be 2 on 1 but I’ll do it. I’m already going up against teams of 12 to 15 so what’s 2 more in TX. If you grab 1 or 2 more players you could be in the running for the title don’t you think?

I'm going to try to make a special effort to come out to play on Thursday, for the first time in over a year. I live in Butte Montana now, so I will try the place in Bozeman. Looks certain I would be solo. Not asking to be included, just if you see the name know it's legit.

Cool, will be looking for any bar from Montana. There’s not many so any Montana bar on Thur is you.

Looks like 7 bars unless there’s a last second entry before 830 Thur.
Time Out West could be at Chicago Loop so whichever one they play at is fine.

We have one more late addition. Barley Hopsters in Ohio says they will play. I know they said the same thing last year then only played like once. One regular said he will try to get others in there this time around. So now we have 8.

So there is no doubt, time for the annual disclaimer. Walsh's plays wetware, in person only. While it is unlikely, it is not impossible that cheaters such as RICHHK/THANNOS or others will post scores at Walsh's through the app with GPS spoofing. The Walsh's team disavows any association with such scores and will remove them if necessary from our totals.

6 of the 8 bars were in the top 7 with Calgary being the place jumping up into the mix. Stavro's should have played.
7 of the 8 bars were in the top 20 overall.

Chicago Loop/T.O. West should be back to full strength next week. Though Stained Glass Pub was a single player, Me. Very tough to play all 5 boxes for SIX. Hadn't done that for SIX before. Tough to switch answers in time on this game...I know if I had it right from the go then I wouldn't need to switch. Lost tons of points and bonuses on needing button pushers. Unfortunately Stained Glass will be taking the drop score next week. I will be racing in the NHRA Div. 1 Finals at Maple Grove Raceway PA. No BT locations anywhere near there.
