New Scaratings

Just like last week, we saw ourselves #1 in both location and individual scores, with the next closest score being about 10K behind, and none of the usual East zone suspects around.

Of course I don't know what the rankings mean anymore when what we see right after the game has no correlation to what the HOF will show after all guest scores are removed. It was obvious last night on a number of games that we were being ranked higher than we would have anticipated based on historical data as to what it takes to do well in a particular game, but then we always had five P+ boxes going.

1 would have hoped that it would be fixed but it wasn't. Noticed it immediately with the scores.

On a side note, Aardvk great Trendalicious last night. We had a decent game at the Mill but slipped on a few questions.

Same thing at Hardtimes Germantown. #1 shown but we knew that wasn't right. Showed Opiee #1 and all the scores under her were lower than hers but was actually about 200 in HOF today. Strange.

However the #1 was right for Topix, very soothing win.

The sad thing is that I felt I had to go over and tell the other folks playing Spotlight that the rankings were no good, when if we'd seen our real ranking (No. 4), we would have been quite happy. So by not fixing something that BT knew needed to be fixed, it turned a good ending to the game into a bad one.

However, that did give me the intro into handing out cards with the info on how to sign the petition, which between the rankings glitch and the fact that two out of the three people who are normally there at the beginning of Spotlight didn't get there until about the second round, seemed to be most welcome.

I see Buzztime's programmers as a big pile of #2. So many things a semi-competent programmer could fix in a couple hours.
