Buzztime is stuck in repeat mode again :(

The past few weeks they've loaded up on new questions in the earlier rounds.

But they can't do the same for the most important round of the game?

As my teammate said last week, this is the equivalent of a NASCAR race where you compete full gun the whole race, only to bring out the caution flag the last 10 laps where everyone finishes under the yellow flag.

At the very least, buzztimeshould always make the final 11 questions of the game all new questions. That's the round that matters. (Obviously the Oct 25 game will be new but I'm sure that particular category will be met with a collective "who cares" shrug from the masses playing since its yet another chase at the "target group")

Naturally, at about 6:00 PM, I'll be telling my wife that we had better "Go Now".

How was "Sunny Songs"? We had guests in from out of town and didn't play.

The headliner round was fairly easy, lots of the Sunny songs you would have been looking for.
The final was very easy. "I've got sunshine on a cloudy day" are lyrics by.............?

There was one that we weren't sure about but split and got 3 boxes on it. Don't remember it but I'm sure Poman does.

5183 boxes in play total east and west

The top 10 bars east:
1 Getaway Cafe 76,488 Pittsburgh PA
2 Fletcher's Pub 75,402 Kalamazoo MI
3 Buffalo Wild Wings 69,924 Gaithersburg MD
4 Henry Hudsons Grill One 66,972 Oklahoma City OK
5 Elsa's Cantina 62,598 Dayton OH
6 Buckets Tavern and Tap 62,148 Tampa FL
7 809 Sports Grill 62,073 Oklahoma City OK
8 Brewstirs Burgers, Pizza and Pub 58,542 Roselle IL
9 Wallaby's 57,636 Lenexa KS
10 Walsh's Bar and Grill 57,186 Westmont IL

Is it now?
I'll wager they only had half of the correct answer on the board.

The whole game on October 11 was pretty balanced, something I haven't seen in a long time.

Agreed. Headliner was fun. Final question was a joke though since it had been an option in the previous round and was very easy.

It was the first time in months we had played and we had a 65K average for the game!

I also agree that the game was well balanced. I agree with others that the final question was too easy. Shouldn't the last question, for up to half your points be a question that would separate the field? Give someone a chance to catch up who was previously behind? To ask a ridiculously simple question does not accomplish the goal!

They should have flipped the last question with the Yardbirds question...of course, I would have lost 50% of my points. But that would have been a very good final question.

My favorite question was the Schoolboy Q "Studio" song that topped the Billboard chart.

The song peaked at #38 on the Hot 100.

It also peaked at #1 on the... Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart

Well I got roped into playing tonight for the Today's Pop headliner (to which I knew ABSOLUTELY none of the answers). But have no fear, my daughter, Panda, guru of pop music was there to save the day, and in the process ended up with the top score in the west tonight (as long as the scores hold) and our location got top average to boot. So congrats once again to Panda for the win. 8-)

For those of you who didn't play Saturday's "Today's Pop" game, the first ten questions were as advertised. Final Question was, How many grammys did Lorde win at last award show? I guess not a bad question (a little cruel especially since the Grammys are a joke), but I guess at least for a change they put the right answer so it's a step in the right direction. Songs from a year and a half ago shouldn't really qualify as current pop, but what the hey.

Two weeks weeks ago, apparently Gwen Stefani went solo in 2001, I'm curious what their source was on that. Last week, they repeated a Cher headliner question, asking what was the first Top 20 for Sonny and Cher. I wasn't sure whether to go with the correct answer (I Got You Babe) or the incorrect answer from before. I gambled that they changed it to the right answer, but well you can guess how many points we got on that one :)

I guess I really need to figure out what U2 first single is, and what criteria I should use if it is asked (1st UK single, 1st charting single, 1st Chinese single...)

That Gwen Stefani question was an epic fail...and it only occurred in the round where you're deeply penalized for missing a question. So no big deal

This current Playback writer that's been there for the last year or two seems to have a strong love of 2000s R&B. I guess the question writer was trying to say in what year did Gwen have her first chart hit outside of No Doubt? But it was a poorly worded question since her real solo career began in 2004. The writer loves R&B, she remembered the Eve / Gwen duet from 2001, and that's how she arrived at the answer of 2001 for that question.

Except that's still not right. The writer seemingly forgot about the duet that Gwen had with Moby the year before that. So the "correct" answer is actually 2000.

What the writer should've done was just ask for the song title or the name of the duet partner that Gwen teamed up with in 2001.
