So they took the split away. Are they going back to not announcing headline rounds again?

I don't think they've ever missed a week of announcing the Playback headliner so this would be a first. It's definitely the closest they ever cut it

IIRC, they have missed a week(s) where they forgot to update the Showdown categories.

The sad thing is the reason they started announcing the Topix two weeks at a time was so that players would have more time to decide if they want to play that game. Instead its had the opposite effect, buzztime barely gets the topics updated in time for the current Topix game every 2 weeks. I'd rather they go back to announcing them for the month all at once. Even though it poses a problem like this week for Playback, when the employee can't foresee that the categories for tomorrow's August game aren't updated because the calendar that they're looking at still says July.

Tomorrow's headliner is obviously The Guess Who.

Never mind. It's up, along with the Topix & Trendalicious for the month.

August 1: 1979
August 8: Taylor Swift
August 15: Naming Names
August 22: Jay-Z
August 29: Lead Singers

And in the process, they wiped out the categories for tonight's Topix & Trenadalicious games

Perfect timing. We always play songs on the jukebox that fit the theme. (Maybe we can get BO to visit next week and select the jukebox songs for us ). On the Musical Food game, we got "Chicken Fried" to start playing on the jukebox just seconds before the question came up in the Headliner

But for tonight, The Buggles serves a dual purpose. MTV launched on Aug 1, and that hit actually peaked at #40 in 1979

BO would be * unhappy* to learn that we also have an in house live music trivia game once a month. One of the rounds is a Flashback round where you have to guess the year the song was a hit on the charts. When "Video Killed The Radio Star" came up, the team that had the question guessed 1981, and the host gave the team full credit for that year as a correct answer

I can see the questions now...1. Which of the following girls was called by Taylor Swift because she had cancer? 4. Which of the following girls was called by Taylor Swift because she had cancer? 7. Taylor Swift has made it a habit of calling fans who are suffering from what disease? 10. Which artist calls young fans to perk up their spirits when they are suffering from cancer?
