I checked it once and twice and.....NOPE. wasn't chosen. Not even in the old game on the final question.

I guess my last message never got sent.

I didn't play last night so have no idea what the Encore question was.

Well, the Headliner was Frank Sinatra. The last question went something like:

""(forgot the specific lines)' is from this Frank Sinatra hit:"

My increasingly decrepit, fragile lil mind Image has already forgotten the other four choices; the answer was THAT'S LIFE.

Lifting this one from the other thread...

I'll take the heat for the Playback finish.
I made a bad pre-call on "Tommy Dorsey" during the Sinatra round.
I was unaware that he spent five months with Harry James right before his stint with Tommy. I don't know that it would have made a difference, but it couldn't hoit. Ah, c'est la vie...
I'd probably do better at this game if I knew what the heck I was doing...

I did the same. Was rather ticked after that.

I made the mistake for my team (all 2 of us :) ). I knew Frank thought he owed everything to Tommy for his career, but I couldn't remember if he hooked up with anyone else before he got the gig with Tommy.

Overall, I thought that was an excellent [difficult] question. Buzztime made it appear that Dorsey was the answer by throwing a Dorsey in the 3 & 4 answer choices -- those were excellent distractors. That question was the difference between scoring in the 70k's and the 60k's (or in Fletchers' case, the difference between the 80k's and 70k's  )

Wow... Wish I'd played this, just for the Sinatra/Harry James question.

I'm actually amazed that BT got this right; they've asked this question in Countdown multiple times, which I've precalled as Harry James only to find that he wasn't even one of the choices. I'd complain they were wrong, tell my friends the closest-to-correct Tommy Dorsey answer after seeing the choices. Sinatra didn't achieve real stardom until his years with Dorsey, but Harry James is still the correct answer :)

There aren't many subjects which fall much further in my wheelhouse than Big Bands stuff :)
