Planning ahead has become much easier!

April 5 - Johnny Cash
April 12 - Duets
April 19 - Pharrell Williams
April 26 - 80s Rock

That makes sense. Since the scoring largely depends on how you fare in the topic of the week, I guess it was only a matter of time before they started listing it like Topix too.

Now if they list all the categories for the entire month in Showdown, I'll be *really* impressed

Actually my first thought was that somebody screwed up and they weren't supposed to be posted in this way.

But this is better than last month, but not near as good as no announcement and no headliner. Just music trivia with no emphasis.

My thought was there will be two Topix games and one Trendalicious game before the next Playback game...but what the categories are for those three games, that's not important to post yet ;)

At last!

The choice of three headliners schtick annoyed me. It's not much fun to go out for a Playback game that might be about a favoured musical act, knowing you've got a 1 in 3 shot X will actually be that game's headliner (the variable, not the group)

But at least Buzztime usually kept the possibilities within the same genre, and -- especially lately -- made my decision on whether to play Saturday or not really easy! :P

LOL I didn't even realize that until now! I was just amazed at the entire month being previewed.

was I Walk The Line really the 1st album of his to sell a million copies? I couldn't find that in any reference. Over half those headliner questions were repeats, and then that question in the middle, kind of pathetic...

I'd love to see their source for that one, given that the album has only been certified Gold (not Platinum) by the RIAA.

I swear I saw TY FLY GUY as answer choice Saturday night.

I'm guessing that it wasn't the correct answer.

According to Wikipedia, the first country album to sell over a million copies was "Wanted: The Outlaws" in the mid-1970s, a decade later.

As Craig would say, it was a fire sale on repeat questions. Almost the entire round - if not the entire round - was repeat questions. (And we still missed one anyway :o )

At least they'll have to write some new questions for Pharrell Williams. But given what they did in the Topix game on Friday, be afraid, very afraid

The only thing I know about that guy is that he wears an Arby's hat.

No comments on the weekend game? Here's an e-mail I sent to a friend.

Rob:

Even though I pronounced his name 'Feral' like in a cat that ran away from home and lives in the woods, our score for the Pharrell Williams headliner was well up there in average but NTN didn't report out The Squire.

My two scores for ROCKET and LITBOX at exactly 69000 each would have won the top two spots. That would have been my second #1 in like 20+ years of playing so we either get broken boards (Pheasant & Firkin), one board per players maximum (Unicorn), displaced from our table "this table is reserved" after playing for an hour (Fionn MacCool's) or strained necks for the one TV monitor they can spare up in the ceiling (Boston Pizza), this is another low.

^It can sometimes take a few days to post. Your scores are in the HOF now. Congrats!

I didn't think *everyone* else missed the Snoop Dogg question, I figured at least someone got it. He ended up being our 3rd choice. I was the only one on our team that considered going with him on that one.

Missing that one pretty much killed everyone's scores since it was right in the middle of the set.
