June Headliners

June 13: The 80s
June 20: Mariah Carey
June 27: Pop Hits

Not a big Buffett fan, but playing tonight anyway. Couldn't make last weeks Rush game, so hopefully I can make next weeks 80s game.

Well, hell. This lil old grumpy bastard is happy that he did *not* do well in this godawful FBUFFT game, or he would never have heard the end of it from a couple of others. :roll:

To be honest, I'm struggling to remember lyrics from my favorite artist from songs that we were just 10 years ago. So, I think we can give GIRLIE a pass for not placing a lyric from 40 years ago. Maybe

Is anyone else not getting or barely getting Playback rankings at the end of the game? Since for whatever reason, individual rankings pop up first in this game before location rankings... two weeks ago, we got individual rankings, and a blink-of-an-eye glimse of location rankings. (I saw the top 3, and the rest of my team didn't see anything). Last week, we didn't get location rankings at all.

This week, we were at a different venue, and on the tablets. We had about 4-5 seconds to scroll through location rankings on the tablet and that was it.

I suspect the book advertisement is eating up too much of the time during Playback.

At our BWW we have been getting good playback rankings, 2 full showings of locations on the TV screens. Didn't look at tablets.

As for the final Q last night we also had trouble with that old relatively obscure Buffett song. A couple of the other choices looked good. Only 3 tablets on the right one. Nailed all the other 10 Buffett Qs thanks to Opiee, our Buffett fan.

I definitely think we have a new writer for playback or at least the headliner round. Good job again.

So........about that R.E.M. question in the pound round last night. Did anyone actually get it for 1000 points? I've always been afraid they'd ask something like this in the pound round, but you can't really answer it until you see all 5 choices. I've suspected NTN just transfers questions around from their database when compiling these games without checking them first.

You mean you didn't know Green was the earliest release of the 5 unknown choices?

They're doing pretty good lately, but those 80s questions were way too easy..one can only hope Mariah Carey questions will be similar, but I doubt it...

What was the answer choice in everyone's bar? It was 1 in our bar.

Since buzztime is randomizing the answer choices now, bars that had Green in the 5 choice were at a big advantage.

However, I've suspected for awhile now that buzztime has only been randomizing answer choices from the point forward when they started doing it. Meaning existing questions in the database (before they started randomizing answer choices) aren't coded to get the randomizer.

Very easy questions on the 80s. But they were good songs the writer picked.

Fittingly, this "clue" caused a lot of players to miss this question :roll:

It's a lame question for trivia anyway (minutia), but if they're going to ask it, they should at least ask the question straight up & not throw in a "clue" that leads everyone to the trick answer.
