Playback cancelled at all BWWs?

Anything strange about the Sat. times of this new Dr Pepper Academy of Football game?

Whatever they're doing, BWW really seems to like this game. And since buzztime's survival more or less hinges on BWW, that basically means BWW gets whatever it wants.

After all, BWW already took out the Friday Topix game to play this game.

At least its only temporary...for now

The Friday topix and Thur Tuned In/IW are back as Academy is now at 630 for 30 mins. Just losing a CD. But Saturday is showing a game at 9. Losing playback and gaining a CD. Or Playback moves to 930. :roll:

I may be wrong but I think the last one will be at 8pm and then Playback still at 8:30.

I was hoping it was gone when November was over but I like this setup a lot better than the previous one.

Right. That's what I meant by temporary. The Friday Topix is back in now. Likewise, this is only a one month promotion. If that schedule is correct, that means Playback would be back in January.

Thanks for the heads up. We normally play Playback at Mister Mo's, but our fall back place when we get a late start is our local BWW. It won't be for awhile now.

I just talked with CS at BT. The guy said his schedule for this weekend shows the last Sat. Academy game starting at 8, ending at 830.
So all is well according to him, Playback will be on, he says. Just a very poorly written game page for Academy.

Carry on, nothing to see here.

PS - Gaithersburg MD will be the #1 bar for Academy tonight at 630, as we are every time we play the damn game. Right ILLJOL? We always see the lil one on the 2nd page of players but never his bar.

The infuriating thing is how the ad was written. It says 5-9 Eastern, and adds that there's a 30 minute game every hour on the hour.

There are two ways to resolve that pair of statements:

1) Games will start at 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00. Playback will be trampled.

2) The window for AOF runs from 5:00 to 9:00. Games at the top of each hour, meaning that the last one begins at 8:00, and while the window doesn't close until 9, the last half hour, like the second half of every other AOF hour will have Buzztime's regular programming, i.e., Playback, rounds 1-3.

I alerted the locals to this ambiguity, and their need to be prepared for unexpected programming Saturday evening. BUD's research would suggest that case (2) is the operative one.

They really should have written that promo better.

The BT CS rep was wrong the other day. There is NO Playback tonight at all BWW. Same for the rest of the month. There will be a bunch of lost revenue at our BWW for the rest of the month. Way to go BT and BWW.

Looks like I picked the right night to not play......problem is, my friends tried to play and had no idea.

Rather than launch into some emotional tirade about ill advised decision making.....ya know, maybe it's just better to let some things die by their own hand rather than try to save them.

This is all BWW's doing says the BT rep today. But what do they know, the rep the other day said playback wasn't going away, but it did.

I guess complaining to BWW is the way to go.

Given the final question, trust me, you were better off not playing. Another waste of a 10/10 round.

FWIW, there were two BWW that ranked in the top 20 for Playback...although I was told not all BWW have the tablets yet. So those were probably non-tablet locations

I think it just goes to show how much buzztime is at the mercy of BWW. Buzztime could tell BWW no, but they're not going to risk doing that. From a one week sample size in the HOF, we learned that roughly 67% of P+ gameplay participation comes from BWW.

What buzztime could've (should've) did, as many of us said all along, is to play the specialty games before the premium games. Starting a premium game at :30 after is just odd, and a 5:30 start time doesn't do the west coast any favors. What buzztime failed to realize was, sooner or later BWW wasn't going to want to stop their promotion half way through the hour. They want it for full clock hour(s). It's one thing to lose a half hour specialty game because of that, which has already happened. But now they lose a premium game all because BWW wants to run their final promotion hour from :00 to :00 while buzztime wants to run their premium game from :30 to :30

My comment last week was a case of selective reading it looks like...I stopped reading after on the hour (and missed the on the half hour part). I'm glad I didn't end up going out on Saturday. I honestly don't mind the game as a half hour slot like it is M- F but for 4 straight hours on Saturdays is too much. My guess is the sponsor money from Coors Light previously and now from Dr. Pepper for BWW is driving this.

The bottom line is thousands of players will be staying home or doing other things on Sat. night for a month. I know our BWW manager is not happy with that situation.

4 hours straight of football trivia is enough to send everyone away. Then to add that extra half hour football game so that Playback can't air just kills off any possiblity of wanting to go to a BWW. Others that may show up just in time for 830 are shit out of luck too.

If BT would just get rid of that last Academy game things could workout, showing up at 830.

Too bad our only good choices are 3 BWW. At least OPIEE and I will be in FL for 1 of the games.
