Well, I missed 3, maybe 4 if you count P.P. Arnold UK only release as the answer (you have the buzztime writer's blood in you) ...Glad you don't write the Playback games, especially the Encore questions :)

That is the answer I'm looking for on that one. First chart hit means just that, first chart hit. If it's first chart hit on a specific chart, then I would always point out the specific chart. Of course, buzztime even tried that with the "US Top 20" question on Sonny & Cher and still misfired  (not to bring up bad memories  )

I would definitely not be gentle. For the simple reason....I believe all premium games should be just that, premium trivia. I thought that 1990 Encore question this year was an insult to the game. Only two of the answer choices were songs from the year 1990. That might be acceptable for Countdown, but I think it's an insult for Playback. At least toss up 4 songs from the year 1990 in the choices. I'd rather see all 5 be choices from 1990. But two out of five was pretty lousy.

I believe this game was at its best when MaryC was writing the questions. She was challenging, but fair. That's how it should be for a premium game. Those days appear to be gone forever :(
