Fall Out Boy

Alanis Morrisette

Do Fall Out Boy and Alanis Morissette have enough material for 11 questions...even between them?

If it's not Led Zeppelin I cannot be held responsible for my actions.

Fall Out Boy hasn't done enough to be a Headliner.

Alanis has. Heck, if we dig through the Playback archives, there's probably about 15-20 Alanis questions in there. They could probably just use those re-use those questions (let's hope they don't do that  ).

In fact, if we continue to dig through the Playback archives, we'll probably find there have been more Alanis questions than Led Zeppelin questions. But in fairness to buzztime, Alanis is more conducive for writing trivia questions than Led Zeppelin is....simply because Led Zepplein is an albums artist, not a singles artist. And half of Led Zeppelin's albums are numbered. That's the same reason why we don't see (m)any questions about Chicago albums. The average trivia player is going to know, say, Abbey Road, but the average trivia player isn't going to associate with album titles like II, III, IV, etc.

Anyway, this is most certainly an odd grouping of pairings. There were huge complaints the last time buzztime did that...and to their credit, buzztime hadn't done that again -- until now. Hopefully this wasn't the decision of a new employee that doesn't know the ins & outs yet (because, if so, we'll probably see several more odd grouping of pairings in weeks to follow). Rather, hopefully it was just because half the employees were on vacation this week & the employee who made the decision was merely a substitute anchor who normally isn't in that position.

The Led Zeppelin was a great round, aced them all. The final was too easy.

BT did use the numbered albums, it wasn't that hard to keep them straight.

Too bad we had trouble on the earlier rounds. Hardtimes still ended up 4th, probably our best showing of the year.

Congrats to Fletchers again and Caddy Jacks.

We missed the last question and the one about "Going to California." We always associated Joan Baez with California more than Joni Mitchell for some reason.

Shame, because I was closing in on my personal record. Oh well.

Well, it was if you know Led Zeppelin like the back of your hand.

We have a guy on our team that has every Led Zeppelin album, he'd be begging for Led Zeppelin for months...but he says that matching songs to specific albums is a huge weakness of his  In fact, we had to give him the answers on two of the match-the-song-to-the-album questions during the round. He said he had no idea on the final question. He didn't even offer up a guess.

We also have a guy that sits in the back, plays Zeppelin on the jukebox just about every week, and both he & his wife missed the final question as well.

All that being said, I had no problem with the final question. Zeppelin is an albums artist. What other kind of question were they going to ask? It was very much fair game. But I don't think it was an easy question for most players.

We did luck out on the Katy Perry question. Someone played that song on the jukebox a couple questions before that one came up. Had that not happened, that would've been a sure -250 instead of 1000

Well yeah, Freezer & I both Do know Zep like the back of our hand.

So now that BT has done The Doors & Led Zep all that hasn't been done, that I know like the back of my hand, is Rush, Pink Floyd & The Dead.

Still waiting for Rush.....maybe one of these days? Maybe when they make the Hall of Fame.

Whatever, POMAN, it's probably the first track on your IPod :)

I only bought two Zeppelin albums in my day and one was The Song Remains the Same, so felt fortunate to get that one.. It's easy to remember the tracks on that because they're about 10 minutes each...
