I wonder if someone from Buzztime is listening. The headliner possibilities are posted already!

1970s #1 Hits
1980s #1 Hits
2000s #1 Hits

I'm hoping for 70s or 80s.

Thanks for posting. I am also hoping for 70s and 80s, but will study my 2000s list, just in case.

Since last week was Mariah Carey from the 90's and 00's, I'm hoping they go older this week.

I hope you are right. We are road tripping to Sports Fans in Bettendorf, Iowa tonight.

Depending on how busy it is, you should hypothetically see us up there from Bungalow Joes. We used to hit top 5 or 10 regularly, but haven't quite made it since our bar closed :(

Been kinda tough today. Only on one tv at the moment and people standing in front of the trivia screen so haven't got to see what is going on in about two hours. Hopefully it will clear out a bit after the Ravens finish collapsing.

I don't know how much of a difference it would've made (other than it might've kept more people away from playing  ), but it probably would've been better if buzztime was more specific in the Headliner. They've done half & half on the Headliner a few times in the past.

For example, I think one week the headliner was Gwen Stefani & No Doubt. IIRC, that week was half No Doubt questions and half Gwen solo stuff questions.

I think how they've should've phrased it this week was something like "1980's #1 Pop & Country Hits." (Granted there was one R&B question...but I think there were five pop questions and five country questions. I'll have to wait for ROCKET's recap to confirm).

Coming into the game, I was expecting mostly pop hits with maybe one or two Country, R&B or A/C questions sprinkled in (or maybe one of each). But I wasn't expecting a 50-50 split of two genres.

OTOH, the posted Topix are often misleading/vague in comparison to what they actually turn out being...so it's not like tonight was anything different than the way it's always been.

The country questions helped us out at Hardtimes..NAILED them all. Mostly by OPIEE.

You guys just need to broaden your horizons. That Rock Won't Roll was easy. ;)

Too bad Dayton & Kzoo were way ahead before that round.

When is BT going to do RUSH as the headliner?

I really thought those majority of 80s country questions was going to do everyone in, but we obviously have some country experts out in Buzztime land. Congrats to those teams and congrats to Elsas in Dayton, who has really become a force in Playback recently.

I agree with the other posters though...wish they had been a little more specific in the headliner. #1 70s/80s/00s hits gives enough of a set of questions already, just off the regular pop chart, without bringing other charts into it. I know so little about country, that I couldn't tell if those were #1 pop hits as well, or if they were asking #1 country hits. I think it was the latter.

I don't have any problem when Buzztime decides to do a country game. I'd just like to know so I don't waste my time showing up to play it. I am not interested in learning what songs George Strait, etc. did, and never will be. When it's one or two here and there, that's fine; I accept the misses I'll take and move on. When at least a 50% (point wise) country game is mislabeled as something else, it's a bit annoying.

I totally agree! Had I known this, we would have spent more time conversing with our non-trivia playing friends.

Here's the Encore question and answer. It turns out there were five Country questions in Headliner and of course one more as the Encore.

Yep, more than half is a bit ridiculous.
