We had a weird night at the Goose. Glory Days and Brainbuster were new content, but Showdown was a repeat of last week (curiously, with the new categories for the Category Round and Final listed, but the questions from last week). I'm not sure what the problem was.

Anyway, we did poorly. The top score was 79xx, and the other four were all in the 5200-5900 range.

I don't think you'll see a score from 8th Street Grill for last night. We did play, and were doing pretty well - better than the 8548 we'll have to keep now... During the battle of Alma question (Q11?), we were on "France", which I think was correct, but the system froze as the timer was counting down and we never saw the answer. The system rebooted to the "BuzzTime" screen and sat there until the next game started, but by then most of the team had left.

I don't know if it's related, but we didn't see any of the leader boards after Showdown either...

Alma was actually a battle in the Crimean War.

Sorry to hear about the system failure. It is intensely frustrating for that to happen, particularly in a tournament.

I've tried several times today to get to the NTN/BT website to retrieve the scores from last night's game, but neither IE nor Google Chrome will bring up any part of the site. Anyone else having this problem, or it just my computer being wonky again?

Can access just fine all day here, but I use Firefox. Think this is usually a cache issue.

We were on France as one of the belligerents, but it's possible we misread the question - the question wasn't up very long before it froze, and that pretty much broke any concentration on the game.

As I recall, the question was something like, "Which country lost the battle of Alma?" Answer was Russia. (The winner of the battle was Britain.)

I apologize for the delay in getting the rankings out. Yesterday I spent traveling to Sarasota, where I'm helping my mother get ready for my stepfather's funeral on Monday, and my computer doesn't have Internet capability unless I lug it to a Wi-Fi spot, and the computer I'm on now with Internet has file incompatibility problems with the standings file. I did run the numbers, and here's the short version of the rankings I've typed in manually; the full array will be posted Tuesday afternoon. For this purpose, I'm omitting the bottom teams because of logistical problems, etc. don't seem to be playing any longer.

Once again, the lead has changed hands, and especially with the "drop-the-lowest-score" feature coming into play next week, everything is way too close to call:
