Answers:

1. William Kidd [I split, getting 854 Points as LESTER at Buster's Bar, Ottawa ON, and only 213 as REACH (I forget with which Choice). Everyone else in our group got around 200 Points or less.
For Captain Kidd, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Kidd .]

2. Lisbon [We went with the Portuguese "Sao" (Brazil was not one of the 5 Choices); see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfama and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sao_Jorge_Castle ]

3. Erik Satie [I called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_Satie . I mentioned his most famous composition, Gymnopedies No. 1; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnopedies , and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WfaotSK3mI or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-Xm7s9eGxU . I remember a couple decades ago there was a TV commercial that used this piece, selling coffee, tea or chocolate, but I can't find a clip on YouTube (maybe a reader can help me on this). A very short clip is available from 9:40-9:47 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzOh9cTbX60 which features 79 musical clips with ID; see how many you recognize! ]

4. Vespasian [I forget who pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespasian ]

5. Eyes [I pre-called this one from "chromia"="colour"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterochromia_iridum ]

6. Psychiatrists [We Canadians went with "Journalists" until the 3rd Clue, losing 800 Points or more. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldwater_rule . Phil (BSLXPN) might have got this one, but he couldn't make it to the games. After the 3rd Clue, we older guys suddenly remembered the questions raised about Barry Goldwater's mental health; see the section "Ads and slogans" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1964_Unit ... l_election . Goldwater's slogan was "In your heart, you know he's right", which was parodied by LBJ's team as "In your guts, you know he's nuts". Evidence of polarization back in 1964? ]

7. Marlin [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Old_Man_and_the_Sea ]

8. Franklin Roosevelt [Despite calls for Wendell Wilkie, I split, getting 1000 Points as REACH, and only 330 as LESTER. Dave (YELDOR, TULADI) got 987 and 984 Points, but everyone else got nearly wiped out. See the section "Campaign for Vice-President (1920)" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_D._Roosevelt ]

9. Lord Byron [Andrew C (GRYFON) pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ada_Lovelace ]

10. Peru [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazca_Lines ]

11. France [Andrew C and I pre-called "de Nimes" for "France"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denim ]

12. Slaves [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manumission ]

13. Lee Harvey Oswald [I pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Oswald_Porter . I mentioned that I was in a 1st year University Biology lab on the afternoon of Friday Nov. 22, 1963, when someone came in and said "Someone has shot the President". No one could believe it (as the Civil Rights movement was advancing, no one could believe that in modern times anyone would want to assassinate the President). That evening, most of us watched the TV (on a 21" black & white set at my residence), in shock. Next morning at my 8:30 English class, the Prof. came in and said "What a night! President Kennedy and Aldous Huxley died the same day!" Older readers can probably remember exactly what they were doing when they first heard the bad news...]

14. Versailles [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_of_Mirrors ]

15. Botanical garden [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominion_Arboretum or https://www.uwo.ca/biology/research/bio ... retum.html ]

Congratulations to MAD RIVER, New York NY for a perfect Site score of 15,000 Points (they had 9 tablets with perfect 15,000 Point scores). The #2 Site was RED FOX SPORTS, Cuyahoga Falls OH, formerly BWW Kent OH, with a Site score of 14,999 Points (they had 4 tablets with perfect 15,000 Point scores, and one with 14,999 Points, but the Site score is truncated, not rounded up or down).
