Answers:

1. Henry VII [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cabot , although it is arguable whether or not Giovanni Caboto reached Cape Breton Island (part of Nova Scotia), or only Newfoundland ]

2. Man and Superman [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_and_Superman ]

3. Emmental [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmental_cheese ]

4. Centrifugation [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrifugation , although this also depends on relative insolubility (for example, alcohol is less dense than water, but an alcohol/water solution cannot be separated by ordinary centrifuges). Another technique that was listed, Electrophoresis, separates large molecules from smaller ones, but depends on concentration (density) of gel; see https://www.yourgenome.org/facts/what-i ... rophoresis . For this Question, Centrifugation was the better answer. ]

Since many of us are vexed by vexillology, congratulations to anyone who found the hook on the Barbados flag question. Islands tend to be surrounded by water. And what color is usually associated with the deep ___ sea?
