Congratulations to Rona and Maeves Residuals for their overall #1 individual and bar rankings.

The winner of the Johnny Carson "I didn't know that and didn't know I was supposed to know that" award goes to the two scientists in 1972 who used a satellite to track (an elk) for two years. We went blue whale at Applebee's Killearn in Tallahassee, FL. Matt (Zippy) comes out to Join Jim (Raoul) and Arthur as himself and I to practice at least once more before he heads to New Orleans to audition to become a contestant on Jeopardy. Jim won two games on the show in October, 2006.

As I mentioned in another thread, Maeve's Re$iduals of Studio City, CA (walking distance from Universal Studios) has a promotion on Tuesday that every time the site finishes in the Top 5 the three games between 6 and 8 pm PST, every player gets a free happy hour beverage. ("Happy hour beverage" basically means premium call brands and shots aren't included, as those aren't subject to their Happy Hour pricing.) That often attracts some of the best players in the area. That particular Tuesday they were a rare 3 for 3 on the freebies, including #1's on Glory Daze and (I believe) Showdown.

Good luck Zippy! If he hasn't left for NO yet, please pass this on. I was on in 1992. The most important thing to know going in are to relax, project by speaking loudly and confidently, and prepare a short list of five interesting things you can talk to Alex about during the interview session after the first commercial break. They need to be things you can explain in a brief sentence or two. At one point you'll be asked to provide five, and not given a lot of time to write it down. Having five ready gives you an edge over people who don't know how it works.

Out of curiosity, do you know where the auditions are happening? The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire auditions in 2001 were at the Doubletree next to Harrah's casino.

I was at last year's New Orleans auditions, they were held at the Sheraton on Canal street.

The prep folks get you revved up to answer the one they'll promote to Alex and he, of course, makes a bee line for another one putting you on the spot. He asked me about sports reporting and after my answer he commented on how pleased he was that a lot more women were getting involved in sports reporting. Without missing a beat I said "Well, Alex, they don't call it broadcasting for nothing." Crowd laughed. Alex looked perplexed. Punch line died a horrible death in editing. The end. :mrgreen:
