Having been swept the first week from the Sandbag Invitational by Blue Goose in Cincinnati, OH., Ken (Kendo) Jim (Raoul) Craig (Merkin), Richard (TPG), and Arthur as Himself and I meet at Applebee's Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee, FL for the first night of a Glory Daze tournament. Congratulations to Ney and Dagwood's for their #1 individual and overall bar ranking. The game starts with a small Buzztime gaffe. Pete Hamilton was the winner of which 1971 event? The correct answer was actually "nothing". I figured they meant the Daytona 500 which he actually won in 1970. I figured my Sports IQ bank of facts would come in handy for something. Richard Petty actually won in 1971 (his second of seven). Smiles from our radiant waitress Sarah and a big hug from my favorite barmaid Sunshine sends me home in anticipation of next Tuesday. |
