Answers:

1. The Bee Gees [Patrick (GRZLDA?) pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odessa_(Bee_Gees_album) . We at Buster's Bar, Ottawa ON had trouble getting enough tablets that were charged up or wouldn't conk out mid-game. Chris gave up one of his tablets (as CEEZED) to a player in another part of the bar (RUSTYB), and when Sue and Richard left after the SHOWDOWN game, Andrew C tried logging onto one of their tablets as GRZLDA, but missed the first Question. Normally, Patrick plays as MRRED, but he must have played under a different handle, which I assume (perhaps wrongly) as GRZLDA. ]

2. Alaska [Myfanwy (SPRAJO) and others immediately thought of the great 1958 Alaska earthquake; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958_Litu ... egatsunami ]

3. Ben Casey [I (REACH) pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Casey . The opening theme from the show featured Dr. Zorba; see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6xxYBbCtxM . Zorba was played by Sam Jaffe, who played the Einstein-like professor in "The Day the Earth Stood Still"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Jaffe .]

4. Sprite [Andrew C (GRYFON) pre-called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin-Healey_Sprite ]

5. KISS [Patrick called this one; see the section "Discography" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_(band) ]

6. France [Andrew C called this one; see the section "French colonization" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madagascar ]

7. The Subject was Roses [Jean (LESTER) called this one; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Subje ... oses_(film) . The film starred Patricia Neal after her stroke; Neal played the young widow in "The Day the Earth Stood Still". ]

8. Waterbeds [I pre-called this after seeing the word "leak"; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterbed ]

9. Horns [see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood,_Sweat_&_Tears ]

10. James Meredith [I pre-called this one; see the section "Challenge to University of Mississippi" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Meredith . Bob Dylan wrote the short song "Oxford Town" based on the incident, part of arguably the greatest folk album ever, "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" from 1962; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_Town . The other 4 Choices were also part of the Civil Rights movement of the early 1960s; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Wilkins , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medgar_Evers , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Goodman and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Chaney . For Bob Dylan's take on the assassination of Medgar Evers, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXWM84rUV-Q . ]

11. Blue [For some reason, Chris (KAYZED) knew this right away! See the section "Jeannie's origin" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Dream_of_Jeannie ]

12. Ecstasy [Except for Jean (LESTER) who got 629 Points on this one, we mostly guessed wrong, ending up with Dave's (as YELDOR) 238 Points or lower. Like astrology, mood ring colours seem not to be standardized or are broadly vague; see https://moodringcolorchart.com/ and https://www.bestmoodrings.com/blog/mood ... t-meanings for example.]

13. Light My Fire [I pre-called this one; see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RtTWDv-yWM .]

14. John Diefenbaker [I pre-called this one, a killer probably for most Sites in the USA; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Diefenbaker . After decades of rule in Canada, the Liberal Party got complacent and arrogant. Despite a Pipeline Scandal in the mid-1950s, the Liberals and the polls confidently predicted yet another electoral victory, but were upset by the Progressive Conservatives under the prairie populist Diefenbaker who appealed to nationalism and anger against the Liberal elites. The journalist Peter C. Newman made a name for himself by writing "Renegade in Power", an unvarnished view of the turbulent Diefenbaker era; see https://nationalpost.com/opinion/allan- ... ears-later . "Dief the Chief" and JFK hated each other (JFK, darling of the liberal progressive press, personified the privileged Ivy League-educated son of an immensely rich man, hated by both Richard Nixon and Diefenbaker who came from more modest backgrounds). There is even some evidence for foreign interference from Washington in the Canadian electoral process, and Dief railed against the "fake news" of the day.

From 1967-71, I was a grad student at the University of Toronto under Prof. John Polanyi who deservedly won the 1986 Nobel Prize for Chemistry (he detected infrared (IR) radiation emitted by vibrationally and rotationally excited states of molecules formed during elementary chemical reactions, e.g. H + Cl2 = Cl + HCl + IR photons, so I know something about the IR spectra detected by satellites looking down on the Earth, showing the net absorptions due to greenhouse gases like water vapour and CO2 , and what happens quantitatively if CO2 is doubled). See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Polanyi . Polanyi once regaled his grad students with a story of a meeting with Prime Minister John Diefenbaker on science policy in Canada. Dief had no interest in the topic, but instead spent his time showing off photos of himself with various world leaders... Such was the personality of a Renegade in Power...]

15. Wealthy industrialist [We wasted a little time looking for "Football player", until we realized that the football player came back in the body of a wealthy industrialist. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven_Ca ... (1978_film) .]

Buster's Bar ended up the #2 Site in Canada & the USA, with a Site score of 14,146 Points out of 15,000 max., edged out by a lousy 17 Points by #1 Site Danny K's, Orange CA (congrats to the excellent team who won despite the disadvantage of Q14).
