Your first two words pretty much sum it up. 8-) But I'll probably be a sucker for punishment and play anyway. :)

The NTN Buzztime Topix has the potential for some great questions if they don't care about political correctness.

True, but the decision to show that on Thanksgiving may eliminate more than a few sites from having their regular players playing. As it is, I may have to make a lil detour from returning from my cousin's in San Clemente to my humble lil abode to bang away at this one. :o

I'll play it out of morbid curiosity. Like wanting to know how many times in one game "5. LILJOL" can appear

Can someone whop plays try to scribble the questions furiously on a bevnap to share them later with those of us who will be trapped with their families?

So, NTN Buzztime will be doing a TOPIX game about themselves?

Narcissism much?

The game should go something like this.....

Question number 1: How many sites has buzztime lost since this time last year? 214
Question number 2: How many POTWs have actually had their playing scores represented in a factual manner? NONE

Jimmy Page is a 1980s rock guitarist?

There was one other question that I questioned, the one after the Slash question (who I had no idea was British  )

Dammit, see my long-winded recaps below. If I would have stuck to the topix, I wouldn't have gone Duane Allman on the miss... Jimmy Page certainly played guitar in the 80s, just not on the radio very much...

Here is a recap of two music games from last night. Pretty good games overall, I was impressed with all the perfect scores on the first game.

Topix: 80s Rock Guitar:
1. What guitarist was featured on Ozzy's "Crazy Train"? Randy Rhoads
2. Bret Michaels was lead singer/songwriter of: Poison
3. Saul Hudson is: Slash
4. Who played lead guitar on "Start Me Up"? Keith Richards
5. Eddie Van Halen had guitar solo on: Beat It
6. Scorpions' song: Rock You Like a Hurricane
7. Who had album, "Out of the Cellar"? Ratt
8. "The Trooper" is by: Iron Maiden
9. Master of Puppets: Metallica
10. Who was an 80s' guitarist? Stevie Ray Vaughn (Mick Taylor decent bluff answer)
11. Who was listed as #3 greatest guitarist on Rolling Stone magazine? Jimmy Page
12. Which was an 1980 AC/DC album? Back in Black
13. Who had an album, "Flex-able"? Steve Vai
14. Eddie Van Halen did guitar solo on: Jump (only real song on list)

Somehow I forgot to write one down.. Okay MISFIT guessed Jimmy Page and got the 15K, but I was confident Duane Allman was the right answer on Question #11. I have the 2003 RS magazine with the greatest guitarists and Duane Allman was actually #2 and Jimmy Page was #9. Apparently they updated the list, and now Jimmy Page is #3 and Duane Allman dropped to #9. I guess Page has improved since 2003, and Duane Allman has dropped off talent-wise (too soon?). Anyways, Friday night is always competitive on music topix games, so nice game to all with the 15Ks.

Trendalicious game: "Fall Songs", my chance at redemption. I was worried about Miley Cyrus/Mandy Moore/fill in the blank crap/ type questions, fortunately there were only two like that.

1. Whose first major hit was "Fallin"? Alicia Keys
2. Bono did version of "Can't Help Falling in Love" on which soundtrack? Honeymoon in Vegas
3. What street is mentioned in "Free Falling"? Ventura Blvd
4. Some movie question about three women, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" was about? Frankie Lymon
5. Who had hit with "Boys of Fall"? Kenny Chesney
6. "I Fall to Pieces" was in movie: Sweet Dreams
7. One of his first songwriting feats was "If I Fell"? John Lennon
8. Brian May played "Hammer to Fall" (sic) for which group ? Queen
9. Who had hit with, "Could it be I'm Falling in Love"? The Spinners
10. "Falling Down" was on her album, "Kiss and Tell". Selena Gomez (correct guess #1)
11. Who sang a cover of Tom Waits's, "Falling Down" ? Scarlett Johansson (correct guess #2)
12. All these are Fall Out Boy songs except? Everybody Talks (Neon Trees)
13. Who sang a duet with Peter Cetera on, "Next Time I Fall in Love"? Amy Grant
14. Lyrics, "Oh God I think I'm falling" from which Madonna song? Like a Prayer
15. Who had hit with "Waterfalls"? (Altogether for the 20th time, TLC)

Bonus Coverage:
Final Spotlight question: Who narrated the movie, "Book of Life"? As is customary with Spotlight final questions, I didn't know the answer, and even MISFIT didn't know, and he's capable of winning the game solo. Even with wipeout format, we both got negative on this. Judging by the Spotlight scores, I"m guessing the majority of players missed it as well, although the odds of getting positive points at least took a few over 40K.

MISFIT might be capable of winning the game locally, but not nationwide. Fucking laughable!

Maybe being dead has something to do with Allman's drop off. 8-)

Now I remember my issue with the "Start Me Up" question...QUALITY CONTROL. He was listed as Keith RICHARD! Really?

Well considering he had a 62K solo earlier this year, and no one else in the country (including west coast) broke 60K that week, I'd say he proved he could win solo.. Not saying it will happen frequently, but he is "capable". Hell, anyone who can score over 52K on a regular basis is capable of winning if they get on a roll and the final question takes down the other top players..Now if I were to say I could win Spotlight solo, that would indeed be laughable...

I thought it was 14 due to the lack of pre-2000 questions.

Well, hell. Looks like I won't be able to bang away on Thanksgiving. BWWs are (surprisingly) closed, and BAs are fully booked. Oh well.

Both Montgomery County Maryland BWWs are closed Thur as is the only other BT bar in this county of 1 million people.

The next 2 closest BT bars are closed BWWs so we won't be out tomorrow. Can someone get a recap of the Topix game? Thanks.

I may play, but its not a certainty. Chicago Sams in Cromwell, CT will open at 7 on Thanksgiving night (weather permitting, as that is around the time it will stop snowing.) If I do play, it will be solo, as my teammates understandably have their commitments... But I am curious what kind of questions will be asked.

I'll be playing tonight, so there will be a Topix recap. After all, beyond the early NFL picks deadline, it's an ordinary Thursday for me

At the end of our local hockey club's game last night, one of our (clueless) field reporters interviewed a player who is Canadian. At the end of the interview, the field reporter over-enthusiastically told him, "Happy Thanksgiving!" The player paused and then said "Thanks" in a "yeah, whatever"-type tone

The player should have wished him a happy Columbus Day. ;)

I wrote down all questions and answers in rather cryptic format, so if pengwn misses one or two I can cover. The game seemed pretty easy for anyone with basic knowledge of NTN/Buzztime and their games...
