So nonstop pablum on both days. At least they don't even try to pretend to be balanced between meaningful facts and schlock any more.

Is Pablum a dessert? Clearly someone was either thoughtless or wanted to annoy us by putting a movie topic on Thursday and a potentially more interesting one (desserts) on Friday.

WTF? Really, WTF? This might be bad enough for me to jump through the god-awful rings Buzztime has set up to comment on their new (god-awful) website. Just when I was starting to enjoy Topix again. What a pisser.

Must've heard ya. Now the Topix Page is read as this:
March 4 - TBD
March 5 - Film Vamps
March 11 - TBD
March 12 - Luck of the Irish
March 18 - TBD
March 19 - Today's Pop Stars
March 25 - TBD
March 26 - Just Desserts

The college related Topix was supposed for the Thursday 10p EST Topix for March and not the Thursday 8:30p EST Topix.

Thanks Mitch - you beat me to it :) Sorry guys, the list got posted before everyone here got the memo about March.

The College-themed Topix is for a promotion will be doing in March (because of March Madness :) ) and it will run AFTER SIX on Thursdays. It's another "Bonus Topix" that will have prizes etc. Details will be posted next week.

The 8:30 ET/5:30 PT Topix game will be the usual non-entertainment-related Trivia.

Just reviewed the BT site; the Topix for March are:

March 4 - Cars
March 5 - Film Vamps
March 11 - Precious Metals
March 12 - Luck of the Irish
March 18 - World Capitals
March 19 - Today's Pop Stars
March 25 - Bird Watching
March 26 - Just Desserts

There are a few here that I look forward to. :)

MUCH better. I'll have to try to play some of them, but Spring Break may interfere. Actually, I'd only have a conflict on a Friday and those games I have no interest in, so SCORE!

Mary, you can disregard my pm to you on Buzztime. Thank goodness the college theme was not taken away, fits perfect for March Madness, can't wait. Hopefully I won't be comatose by the time the Topix games come on (after watching basketball all day)!

Since we're mashing up the Topix schedule, can we go ahead and move the March Madness themed Topix to Wednesdays instead of Thursdays?
I know Crackhead and I would love to play those, and the two of us alone wouldn't get worse than 5th nationally, throwing in Scar it'd be tough to get us out of the top 3 on any of those, but none of us play Thursdays and going at 10pm for a single game is a stretch. So since it looks like we changed the schedule to fit complainers why not change it again? Please??

^My guess is they picked that timeslot since NCAA Tournament games are played on Thursdays at 10pm on March 18 & March 25. (There aren't any games on Wednesdays).

Which makes even less sense. Fewer people will be playing the trivia games during actual tournament games. An even better reason to move it to Wednesday. :D

Yes congrats on winning the car topix. Who knew that they know music & cars??

Also saw zzuupp on the boards, good game. We got confused on a couple of questions and fell to 15th.

Nice game though, good distribution, not overly easy.

Well, it's mutually exclusive  We have a guy there (LEDIOM/JEM) that knows EVERYTHING about cars. But he always leaves before Playback starts. Anyway, I told him that there was going to be a Topix game on cars this week, he got very excited & said he'll definitely play that game. Checking his scores this morning, I wasn't surprised in the least bit :D

Precious Metals is on tonight. I'm going to give it a try. Since high school chemistry was a really long time ago, my score will probably be pretty grim.

Probably won't stay for the College Topix. I know absolutely nothing about College Mascots

grim can't even begin to describe my score. Egads, even my Immortal Words score was higher

Too bad I didn't look at the spot price of platinum or production stats of each element by country. if I had, I would have picked up 2,500 points

The scores for that game were low everywhere. I had a couple of lucky guesses on the countries (not so much on the spot pricing) and whatever chemistry knowledge I retained from high school. Other than that oddly enough the biggest help for me was my fountain pen hobby, since iridium and osmium are used for nib tipping material and most of the others are used for trim pieces (no ruthenium or rhenium as far as as I know, but enough to have a nodding acquaintance with gold, silver and the platinum group). I expected to be in the 200-300 rank range and ended showing up with a sub-12K.

Kinda surprised really as it would have leant itself well to the folks who like studying ahead of time, plus wehave enough periodic table nerds out there to nail those Qs.
