As usual, I have the answer section below the question section I scored 6,207, knowing only 1, 4, and 8 . . . clearly, I ought to stick to games about hydrogen-fusing stars 1. "Are the stars out tonight" is the first line of the chorus of this classic song: 4. The villainous Dr. Soran makes his appearance in a Star Trek film with this subtitle: 5. Madonna's "Lucky Star" was introduced on this album: 6. The 1968 movie "Star!" is based on the life of this actress/singer/dancer 7. This 1995 movie starring Robert Duvall was directed by James Keach 8. This song was a hit for the band "Bad Company": 9. Who portrayed Dorothy Stratten in (blah blah blah) the film "Star 80"? 10. The song "Wand'rin Star" is from this Broadway musical: 11. This artist put out a 1995 album titled "Star Turtle": 12. In 1994, what former MTV veejay joined Ed McMahon to co-host "Star Search"? 13. The 1992 best-selling novel "The Stars Shine Down" was penned by what author? 14. Who began her film career as Woody Allen's dream girl in "Stardust Memories"? 15. Which artist scored a #1 hit in 1996 with "Stars Over Texas"? ANSWERS 1. Pinocchio 2. Wisconsin 3. I Only Have Eyes For You 4. Generations 5. Madonna 6. Gertrude Lawrence 7. Well, hell. That was one of the most brutal Friday Topix games in way more than a lil while. FWIW, this lil old grumpy bastard managed to make a couple or so lil contributions at JTs Grill - 5 (though it took a lil while to figure out that "Lucky Star" was an early Madonna hit, and that her eponymous album was the earliest of the choices), 9 (just ahead of a couple of others), and 10 (mostly because "Wand'rin' Star" was one of the featured numbers in a University Of California Marching Band halftime show ). |

We knew seven in the first two rounds and were in good shape, but we did poorly in the final round. Only one we knew was Sharon Stone. Still, an interesting game. About as difficult as the swimming movies game thrown our way a month ago. |
