Last question last night was "Which of these events is not in the decathlon?" Don't remember all five choices, but they were all in the decathlon. Buzztime answer was pole vault.

Did the events in the decathlon change in the last 20 years? I have been seeing an increasing number of questions that were correct when written but are no longer correct. Or questions that say something like in the "upcoming _____" or "recent _______" followed by an event from 15 years ago. Just a case of recycling questions that are dated. This decathlon Q may fall into the same category?

I didn't play either Topix this week, turning into a BT slacker....like most everyone else it seems.

Playback is on tonight at the same time as the Dirty Bird's, from up the road, game.

So last night (Thu 1/21), we at Walsh's were playing Topix Female-Led Comedies. Led by Colleen at 14,662, we were all over 14, only missing the Scarlett Johannsen question. While we finished first as a team, Coleen showed on the first leaderboard shown in second. She was quite surprised and I remarked "There's a woman in Cleveland who plays as TRVGRL."

Sure enough, first with 14,759. Nice game!

And congrats again to TRVGRL for throwing 15K on Teen Novels and bringing five boards ahead of my '2nd' at Walsh's. That and her previous week's win in Female Led Comedies were two impressive feats in a row. Again on Friday, TRVGRL threw up a very excellent 14.975 in Disney movies, bit Cvavra and I could not silver thrice in a row and threw a 15 of our own up. And that's without any questions on The Ugly Dacshund, Lt. Robin Crusoe, USN or Fantasia!

So they posted some new Topix themes this week.
The first one, for last night, was supposed to be Elton John.
Seemed like a good topic for our little group.
So, of course, there were no Elton John questions.
Think it was a repeat of some fiction writers thing from a little while ago.
Everyone in our group was disappointed.
