Congrats to Walsh's for giving me a beatdown, I knew when the first question asked about a Chicago area course that I could be in for a fight.

The recap, curious to see which Q's I lost ground on.

Q1: Butler National, the only Chicagoland course listed, I played there in a college tournament. 1000.

Q2: Prestwick, in my younger days I would have broken something on this question. I played Prestwick in 2002, it's on the Firth of Clyde. Nobody considers the course or town to be on the Irish Sea even though one may or may not consider the Firth of Clyde to be a part of the Irish Sea. So in my mind in the heat of the moment I tried to determine which wrong answer BT was considering to be correct. I decided they just got their firths mixed up and went with The Firth of Forth even though it's on the opposite side of Scotland. Pretty tough to take a 250 on a course I've played.

Q3: Torrey Pines, visited Torrey in 1986 but did not play there. 1000.

Q4: South Africa, 1000.

Q5: Shoal Creek, always an answer in these games, 1000.

Q6: Postage Stamp, played there the day before Prestwick in 2002, they are just a few miles apart. Made par. 1000.

Q7: Interlachen. Lost the coin flip between MN courses going with Hazeltine. 450.

Q8: Carolina Cherry, been to the Masters twice but don't know the names of every single hole. Luckily the other four choices made little sense. 1000.

Q9: Cascades. Quite a few big tournaments held there over the years. 1000.

Q10: Sea Island, lost a few points putting things together here although I've have several friends who have played there. 850.

Q11: Royal Country Down. One of the best courses in the world, went on a date once with an Irish lass who grew up playing there. 1000.

Q12: Sawgrass. Standard. 1000.

Q13: Winged Foot. This question did not thrill me although I lost no points. The course does have a 600+ yard par 5 but just not one exactly 685 yards. It's best known for the 1974 US Open called The Massacre at Winged Foot where the winning score was +7 and the greens were harder than concrete. 1000.

Q14: Wack Wack. The randomizer question to eliminate any game still perfect. Never heard of it to my knowledge. 250.

Q15: Colonial. Live 20 minutes from it and have played there although deposited no balls in the Trinity River. At least there was another Texas course as a distractor.(Onion Creek) 1000.

Played 4 of the 15 courses and been on the grounds of 2 others. Almost got on Hazeltine a few years back but don't think that would have changed anything tonight.

An excellent time was had at Walsh's and a good win by a nice margin. Personally was upset with missing a 15K.

Split on Q7 but should not have. Hazeltine is Robert Trent Jones (Dave Hill's excellent comments in the 1970 Open) and Interlochen is an older Ross course.

Problem was a lack of familiarity on Cascades.

Wack Wack seemed a Filipino idiom.

Wanna take a minute to toot our own bagpipe at Walsh's. As of today we have won eight straight Topix and ten of eleven. The topocis have been Beer & Wine (15K), Comedy TV, Animated Film, 2004 (15K), Fictional Villians, Greek Myth, Ryan Reynolds, Italy (15K), Summer songs and Golf Courses. Hats off to Teasers for winning Egypt.

We may, if we're lucky, hold serve tonight on Guardians of the Galaxy but nobody expects anything on Cooking next week. I for one would starve to death if I could not get food by talking into a sign.

Cooking topix on Thur wasn't too bad. I was slow getting on the equivalent of a French knife which was a Chef's knife, had paring knife. The only other one I was slow on was a sauce question, there was a good number of those as there should be. That left me at about 13,200 but I only had 4 boxes going.

Congrats to Wingz with a 14.9k win. Arch II was right with them. Walsh's lost their streak with a 13.2k in 6th. Stained Glass good for 11th with a 10.5k.

Didn't play Law & Order. Don't know much about those shows.

Missed last night’s Fast & Furious topix, how did it go? Was it standard straight forward from the wiki pages or did it have a toughie or 3?

I was interested in playing that one but couldn’t get to Stained Glass Pub.

Quiz was fairly detailed. Congrats to Eric (ELOCK/JEFF) and Chris (CVAVRA/PROA) for their expertise!

Well Mickies in the Vancouver area did indeed win Topix last Thur as they should have. Though often the bars close to a topix destination often don’t do that well. We will see about Texas in 2 weeks.

Then on Fri Primetime won Pop music 22. Ack, congrats I guess on that achievement. Didn’t play.

Walsh’s 0 for 2 this week. Though ProA did win Fri Topix, the 2022 pop music king!

Spending this week playing a famous golf course only a couple hundred miles from the crew in Chicago. SentryWorld in Stevens Point, WI. #50 in Golf Digest’s Best Public Course rankings. Should be fun. 8-)

Golf??? Is that the game with the colored round balls and the windmills and astroturf? Going to Ocean City MD next week, home of at least 20 Golf courses. Those little ones with the Pirate ships that is.
