Can't tell you how many times I surfed the web to study for this game. AND I remember going to the bar early enough to grab the paper and "study". I remember playing at Trumps in Lexington, and some of us would bring in notes to get ready for this game. Sometimes see answers that were a day or two old, but that tested the old people's brains from the youngster's. Remember when they changed it from a daily 5:30 to a once-a-week after 11pm game. Still, wish it would come back

Yoda.......back to the AP news of the strange

No, I never studied (nor was very good), but Abused News was fun. It should never have been removed.

With the shift away from 'hard' trivia, you'd think that it would be a natural game to revive.

Instead, we've got Trendalicious...EGADS!!!

my opinion, their attemptt to appeal to a younger generation and get new kids hooked into trivia. News might not appeal to the 20 something crowd, but trends would. 90's trivia would appeal to younger people as well.

Yoda.....I'd rather see 70's trivia

This is another game that should be back. Put it on Fridays before Topix or even after Trendalicious

It's articles like this that make me miss Abused News

Quote:
Artist turns dead cat into 'Orvillecopter' as a tribute
The Orvillecopter by Dutch artist Bart Jansen flies in a gallery during the KunstRAI art festival in Amsterdam June 3, 2012. Jansen said the Orvillecopter pays tribute to his cat Orville, after it was killed by a car.

For photos and a video clip, clicky http://www.calgaryherald.com/Artist+turns+dead+into+Orvillecopter+tribute+video+photos/6726468/story.html

Two burning questions: Does Orville still always land on his "feet?" Will anybody repeat this with a (naturally) deceased pet pig?

I enjoyed the game as well, even though it seemed to rely a bit too heavily on "News of the Weird" for questions. Of course, knowing that made it easier to make the boards as a solo player, which is what I was back in the day.

I like the game back then also, I had a simple reason why. The game was full of fresh questions the same reason why I liked the premium and specialty games, fresh questions.

Now, if I wanted to play I could play CD with a limited database, or repeat Premium and Specialty games. Not much to look forward to nowadays. On that note my bathroom remodel is going well, Rant over..

I actually have a really good idea on this that could bring it back, and make Buzztime some money. Going to talk to a few people and float it up to Buzztime. It would also had some players for them!

When I found the game, I was not yet online at home, but I read at least three newspapers daily. I did OK.

I liked the game because it ensured the writers were writing new questions on a regular basis. Heck, the game even used to run daily. Buzztime workers writing new questions on a daily basis - imagine that! :o

Now, the new questions added to the database are few & far in between - even for the premium games :(
