Okay, so I don't want to do any work today, and decided to go on the Buzztime site and goof off. I did a site search on Louisville's zip codes, and hit 40200 to see what would happen.

It thought I meant 40200 Mimizan, France, which has no sites. It did give me nine sites in Canada, and one in St. Kitts, West Indies. It flagged the St. Kitts Marriott as being off the southern coast of Ghana, Africa.

Really, Buzztime? Smoking a buzz on this one?????

Looked at some of the accounts on there. Looks like people have been playing fairly recently (WHYISTHERUMGONE last played May 21st). I guess there is something to do in St. Kitts after all.

Here is what I posted on NTN's Facebook Wall:

Is there anyway to bring back some parts of the old site finder in the new one like Trivia Ranks, Activity Ranks and Distance??? The Site Finder can't accept searches by Site Name as well.

I was able to locate 9 of the 10 Caribbean Buzztime Sites using the Site Finder and searching for "South Africa."
The 10th site seems to be "Herby's Sports Bar and Grill", Roatan, Honduras. Could not find it using the site finder.
Did found a video of the bar showing TV's with Buzztime on them. Does anyone know or can anyone find the site # for Herby's??

A site in Honduras, huh? Last I had heard anything of GIANT (formerly of Melrose), he was moving there to start up a power tools outfit. So I dug into his stats, and sure enough, he's got six games played there during the latter half of April. Makes me wonder how much he influenced the decision to subscribe to BT. Knowing him, he's probably got an ownership share in the place, too!

Herby's came up very easily for me when I did my quick search last week.

Put in Jamaica in the site finder. The 1st 10 bars will show, then hit "more" at the bottom and Herby's will show in the 2nd 10.

Is there another thread on this? I have not been able to find anything on 'site finder' since about mid-May.

Clearly some of you have been getting something with the new site finder. Are you using the one on the Buzztime's website, or that on Facebook. The Facebook one seems to work, although not nearly as well as the old one, but I have been unable to get anything from the main website. Also no explanation or real answer from various queries to Buzztime. Here is the latest one, sent today.

"Your site finder still does not work. You have obviously done somrthing to destroy it - probably an 'upgrade'. Nothing comes up except the fine print ad, the little empty box, and the word 'searching'. I have left that on for 10 minutes or more, but nothing else happens - it never seems to find anything. A friend of mine says that she had a map come up, but clicking on the part of that where she wanted to find a site did nothing. Did you change it so that it now requires high-speed internet or the latest memory-gobbling version of a browser? Please give us back the excellent site finder you had before May!
Wayne N."

If anybody knows how to make this one work, I would appreciate hearing of it. Thanks,

The site finder works fine in every single browser I tried. This includes IE8, IE9, Firefox 4 and 5, and Chrome.

Are you sure you don't have something blocking Javascript, blocking flash, and have a browser that has been updated to support modern standards?

(As a sidenote, due to the increase in security vulnerabilities and their exploitation, you should not be running the "non memory-gobbling version" of virtually any browser on the internet. If you are more than a minor version or so behind, you are running in a very unsafe environment).

I've recently noticed numerous misspellings in addresses when using the site finder. Some of them are so egregious as to make mapping the location impossible.

I'd say this important tool is in bad need of major editing.

A version rollback will suffice. The old one was quite good, until BT went and Facebooked it up
(F-ed it up, if you will)

You are lucky, I haven't had the site finder work in weeks. It constantly says searching... It really pisses me off, oh well...
