It can't hurt. I already filled it out. At least they are polling everyone now, and not just some mysterious subset of people no one knows.

I filled it out and sent it back. Not very pretty. They got a good idea I was not happy
with several of the changes.

I have to wait until I get home, as I can't read my personal email from work, and don't like doing so from my phone. However, I do plan to give them a piece of what is left of my mind. And in the comments field, I plan to say "I know we won't see the results of the survey, and it is probably not relevant what people think. If you did care, you would go to http://www.scareatings.com and see what is said there"

It's absolutely ludicrous if BT simply takes the opinion of the masses and implements it. The masses have absolutely zero clue about how BT works and the best way to organize the network in terms of games or content or scheduling or whatever. The general public has zero clue how to draw players to the network.

The majority is not always right. In fact, in this day and age where the general public is ignorant beyond belief, many times it's wrong.

I'm just trying to figure out why they're doing it. Obviously someone is looking for something to substantiate one or more of the decisions that made up the packet of changes. So are they suddenly worried about what they've done? They sure weren't worried at all about what they were going to do over vociferous player objections.

It certainly seems like a push poll. It seems like all the answers they want you to select are at the top of the answer choices. The answers they don't want you to select are the bottom answer choices.

People with short attention spans will just read the first few answer choices and pick one of those answers.

Buzztime now randomizes the answer choices on their questions, but it looks like they didn't do the same for these questions.

Can someone post the link to the survey? Or is it unique to each email account? I unsubscribed from the emails because they were pissing me off. But I would like to take the survey.

(Never mind...someone forwarded me their link and it is indeed unique to each email account.)

I get useless crap emailed to me from BT all of the time, but they did not send me any survey.
Did any of the survey questions have the same answer in two spots?
If not, BT must have outsourced this project.

I'm amazed they generated a survey at all.

Don't know of a link. It was sent to me by email. I wasn't afraid that it was unique to each email. I included my real name, sign-on name, and email address at the end of the "extra comments" field. I'd be more than happy to give them more detail to my opinions, but I told them to visit this web site to get the TRUE opinon of the changes

I have a gut feeling that most of the people who don't mind the changes or who like the changes won't email an opinion, and those who don't like the changes will be most vocal. I did put in my opinion box that I know they won't post the results of the survey, nor will it matter, because they are going to do what they want to do, and not what is best for the customers and players.

They were well aware of the opinions of the players weeks before the network split. There's only two things that can come of this survey and both of them are bad. 1, they'll re-institute BTT to appease the ignorant masses. 2, they'll have voting for all games like they mistakenly(?) did a couple of weeks ago.

You know, you're right, Dante, and MiniYoda is right, too. Who the heck would bother to send back this survey? :?

This is an opportunity for the few of us who care the most about Buzztime to make our opinions heard. They're going to have a miniscule return rate on this survey instrument. Seriously, sending this out to every email is probably the equivalent of magnifying the voices of the few of us here a thousand-fold.

I urge all readers of this site to take advantage of the opportunity.

Our opinions don't fucking matter! BT was informed of every single bad thing well in advance of the split and it made no difference! Nothing has been said in the last few weeks on this forum that wasn't conveyed to BT well before it was posted here.

It is utterly worthless to submit the survey.

Actually, -BO-, it's been established that YOUR opinion doesn't matter to Buzztime. They know you. They ignored you.

It's not yet established that the opinions of EVERY REGISTERED ACCOUNT don't matter to Buzztime. Given that we may be able to skew that set to our advantage by caring enough to participate heavily, I continue to urge participation.

Actually, there were more people than just BO. Players BT respects as well, they just didn't listen to any of them, not just BO. The people they spoke to are just fucking morons, that is the simple truth. This survey is nothing more than a way to placate the people that are being the most vocal, verbally and scoreboards. They won't give out the details/breakdown of the responses, so there is no way to say one way or the other (I lean towards it doesn't mean shit), but I will predict they will say. It is overwhelming that our changes are the proper way to go.

That being said, I will vote early and often. If this doesn't change to where I don't have to play repeats, my retirement will be permanent. Not just the current 3 week hiatus.

PS. They (BT) will never hear a positive word from me, I will continue to bash them on Facebook and anywhere I see fit. Until I get bored mocking them. I will also continue to relay answers to the West Feed people that want to mock them as well..

You know, I've been here giving out inside info only to be told that I'm wrong more than once. There were five of us that actively attempted to do anything about this travesty before it was implemented, it wasn't just me. What did you do to help?

BT already knew how the players would feel about this, yet they did it anyway. Let me repeat that in case you didn't understand.

BUZZTIME ALREADY KNEW HOW THE PLAYERS WOULD REACT BEFORE THE SPLIT WAS IMPLEMENTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY FUCKING TOLD US SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I wonder why I fucking bother with some of this shit.

I know it was just the illusion of input, but I sent it in anyway. My guess is that the only ones who will return the survey are people with an axe to grind and want just one more shot at telling Buzztime their thoughts. Those who don't really care about the changes won't, and those who feel like they will never be heard anyway won't.

I do understand what you are saying Bo, but it is the masses who are actually playing the game. The numbskulls at Buzztime probably don't play. At the very least, it feels good to let them know that their product is going down the crapper.

But the results of the split thus far, by metrics of player participation, seem to show that participation in Buzztime is up. That would suggest that those who advised the change were, if not right in every detail, more right than those who opposed it.

I represented my perspective independently to Buzztime. Had you asked me to help you, -BO-, I certainly would have, even though we might disagree in detail. I would have sacrificed my own voice to aid the common good of the community.

But you didn't ask.

Yes, but the "masses" are going to play no matter what. If there's a 30 minute game on Namibian Ballet, the masses are going to play because they are mindless drones merely pushing buttons while they drink. The "players" aren't going to play no matter what. The west coast numbers already show this to be true.

So, catering to the masses means zilch while catering to the players means everything. That's why I state the survey means nothing, because the results will bear the masses collective opinion, which as I already stated means zilch.

That's one of the many things our small group conveyed to BT, that while we might be the minority, we're the players that will leave unlike the masses.

I can understand this.

Starting premium games at 8e/7c has raised player count in those games in the east split, so far this seems to be a good move.

Airing specialty games after premiums has been a colossal failure resulting in declines in the 25% neighborhood.

Airing the specialty block later in the west feed with separate rankings has been a colossal failure with player count declining in every game.

By the way, we told them player count would crater in the west as well as with games after premiums. We didn't know player count would rise with an earlier starting time in the east, but we were too busy discussing more urgent matters.

Look, I'm just pissed about this whole thing and it just irritates me that players keep retracing their steps when it's not going to do any good. I firmly believe BT sent the survey out to give the masses a chance to vent, but it had already been discussed how both the masses and the players would react to these changes.
