Buzztime has listened to its players and are in the process of removing the Buzztime network time zone split. Get ready for true nationwide bar vs. bar competition! This way they can also bring back national promotions like Smartest Bar where the highest scoring site gets awarded a trophy and prizes. This is happening less than a week away. What do you think?

Great news. The rumors were true. Bring it on. I'll guess Thursday will be the day.

The question is.... What time schedule? Back to 9pm eastern for the prime game? Or 5pm Pacific?

Hopefully it's in time for NEXT weekend's bash. (not this weekend)

Could you post a link to where the official announcement is of this? I sure can't find it on the Buzztime website--the schedule page still shows the split.

Groovy. We at Boston Pizza (formerly Rembrandt's, Boccavino, etc.) can once again look forward to getting the snot beat out of us by Houston every Wednesday.

Jamie Hilton is the Network Operations Director at Buzztime, according to a brief Google search. My regional rep also contacted me personally to let me know, so it sure seems real.

I just hope it's not too late.

Actually things have changed in Houston since Mezzanine closed down a few weeks ago. Concert Pub tends not to play on Wednesdays, and Coaches Pub (where you visited) may or may not have a complete team, depending on whether COOGS and I are there (after Coaches dropped karaoke, we've mostly either been staying home or going to JB's/Mike's instead of driving to Midtown). Of course that could change if the Smartest Bar competition is reinstituted on Wednesdays, and now also because the Split will become a bad memory, I'm back planning the Sci-Files tournament hosted by Coaches, so we'll have a least a five-week run there.

Didn't Akbar say he (as a location owner) was told the same thing?

But I too have wondered about this even though I'm relatively certain this is the real deal. I wonder if she's willing to say what she was doing on 9/11/01.

I certainly recognize Jamie Hilton as being an authorized voice for NTN/BT. And although she has not yet posted it on the NTN main Facebook page, she did post on the Trivia Palooza one.

Via PM she responded correctly. We had a helluva time the night before 9/11, the rest of the week not so much.....

It's interesting and rather encouraging that, at least Jamie via this informal post, is giving us some credit for this reversal. If true, perhaps they will start to trust us more, as we seem to make accurate predictions regarding the consequences of drastic decisions more often than not.

I have been familiar with Jamie Hilton for years... she is without question an employee of Buzztime and has been of great help to CHEESE in Triviapalooza matters.
