I was guesting at Winchell's in Lexington KY last Saturday afternoon, played one game and then it just kept cycling through the individual and location rankings at the end of a Countdown and never came back. We left after a half hour as we were done with dinner and don't know when it came back.

Poman, I haven't heard of the tablet lock up in a long while. Guess it's still around.

You all didn't need to leave on the lock up just get the BT computer rebooted and you'll be good to play in about 5 minutes. Rebooting the computer would probably solve Scar's situation too or any kind of unusual game situation.

Reboot, reboot, reboot. Then call BT if that doesn't solve it. They can often reset the computer in a few minutes.

Sometimes it can be difficult to get someone to reboot, though.

A mere lockup would've have been a good thing tonight.
At 5:30 (eastern) the game blew up. Locked out until question 12 of the six o'clock game. The next games were out of sync. The first round was on the screen, the last two playmaker only.
Showdown tried to start, but didn't.

I left.

Waaa Zzuupp,

Seems like that happened only at the Sandbar. Brainbuster & Showdown ran fine elsewhere.

REBOOT the computer when you see these odd lock up things. I'm sure you know the managers quite well at the Sandbar as long as you've been playing there. They hopefully could have had you back online in 5 minutes with a quick reboot. It looks like the BT website for the Sandbar is showing no one played there since Monday, nothing for Tuesday. So they definitely need a reboot. If that doesn't work, time for the call to Carlsbad.

However, it is a bad a sign that these lock ups are rising up again.

Thanks Bud!

Things were working better today, but there were still some issues.

Normally, I wouldn't care if any badge was silver. After last night, this makes me wonder if things aren't quite all right yet.
However, countdown was there. Premium games loaded. Poker was there.
Alas, I think timing was a bit off. The round breaks seemed longer, the game breaks shorter.
I had no desire to actually time this feeling.

And it happened yet again last night. The game locked up at question 14 of the sports game. Fortunately a manager was paying attention when it happened & immediately rebooted the game. But the reboot didn't do any good.

He then rebooted the game two more times, and finally the 3rd try worked, so we were back up just after the 8:15 game started.

I don't know why we continue to play at this site. The charges on the tablets are so poor here that it's always a race to discover if we'll still have 5 boards in play by the time the premium game is finished. Last night we only lost 2 boards and that was one of our better nights.

Well it was even worse last night. The game froze up right before the sports game started. The manager did four reboots and even called buzztime, and they got the game running again 10 minutes before Playback started. But then shortly before the Headliner round started, the game froze up again, and that was all for us.

Manager said after talking to buzztime, they believe the computer is more or less fried, and supposedly buzztime is coming on site Tuesday to install a new computer.

There have been a lot of lockups system wide lately. There have been especially noticeable during Showdown and Spotlight. A couple of sites near me have had the computers replaced. That did help the game, but did not stop the lockups. I believe that it is a BT problem.

We had the TV screen lock up (but not a tablet lockup) hit BWW Gaithersburg MD 2 of the last 5 Spotlight games. We played Spotlight just fine on the tablets.

So that is a different problem, I would say, than the whole tablet system lockup where the TVs continued on with the game. The blue box bars who were unaffected by the tablet lock up are now catching the brunt of this new TV lock up. (Mad River and West Park)

For Showdown and Spotlight recently have there been tablet bars who had both TVs and tablets all locked up?

It is still a BT issue not a bar issue I'd say.

Last night at Cameron's the TV's froze up a couple minutes into Showdown, but the tablets worked fine... except for the network-scores report. We had no idea whether we reported out or not.

As soon as Glory Daze, the TV's came back up.

Turns out we did report out... Had to wait til this morning to see at BT's website.

These problems have been going on for months now... Can never tell from week to week how the game's going to behave, and it seems to vary from site to site. Is there anybody home at headquarters? If so, do they care?

This time around, we hit the ol' Reset button on the BT computer, and things seemed fine... But there had been power issues earlier that day at Cameron's and PG & E was onsite. This meant the power needed to be killed again to reset the other probs the building was having. So, after being in the dark for 40 minutes and then resetting the BT computer again when things didn't seem to be acting as they should... We got going just in time for Brainbuster, and the game played properly except for one tablet that froze out for a question or two during Showdown.

One odd issue: The chargers were apparently off for a good while with the tablets in them during the original power glitch, and that seemed to drain out batteries on most of them, as if they were "reverse-charged". wtf?

To make an already long story somewhat less so... The BT system worked fine (other than the drained-tablets issue).

We will reset the 'puter every Tuesday now, as close to Showdown time as we can...

In what might be a sign of good news, The Red Fox Grille actually got the entire game on its big screen on Tuesday. We had been experiencing the same frozen screen at the beginning of Showdown for most of the past couple of months, leaving us to huddle around the game pads for that game. When the game actually began to broadcast, anyone remarking on this unusual fact was shushed by some of the more superstitious of us in fears of jinxing it. (In fairness, though, RABBIT remarked that she is NOT superstitious, she is just slightly stitious.)

Anyone else get the game on the big screen who had not had it in previous weeks? If so, maybe BT has turned a corner on this issue.
