I wonder if Buzztime will lower their first quarter guidance in the earnings call tomorrow? Bet they wish they were still a feature on AOL during times like these.

The BT earnings call is tomorrow Tues 3/17 at 4:30 eastern time.
The phone number to listen is 877-307-1373.

This time BT will not be taking any live call in questions, as they have in the past.
They will take questions sent in by email in advance. The email is buzztime@lhai.com
The lhai.com is LHA investments of LA, the investor relations firm for BT.

So submit away but don't expect any scathing type questions to make the cut. Maybe some qs about doing more about adding new sites. Getting the rest of the Prime games on the app? etc.

For a short time in the past, BT allowed individuals to have home installations. A few players did just that. Maybe they should allow that again, especially if there are no locations nearby. I could save $$$$.

Just some quick items I could get down as Allen Wolff quickly read a prepared statement. Some my be off, will have to read the transcript in a few days.

1140 sites now including 100 or so BWW that did not drop.
165 Basic sites (with no tablets), these are higher margin due to lower costs.
A new Hybrid system will be introduced in 2020 between Elite and Basic. Tablets with less functions will be able to be added to the Basic level. (Right now Basic sites can't play SD, SP and PB and might not have national bar rankings??)

Ad revenue was up in 2019 due to new ad placing system.
New $3 million order from prisons for hardware. (tablets)
$30 million hardware sales outside of BT locations.
Large numbers of paid for tablets procured from BWW locations just for the cost of shipping.

Down to 38 full time employees dues to layoffs.
Q4 '19 sales drop vs Q4 '18 swinging to a net loss per share. 1.2 million loss.

No email questions were taken as their press release had said was going to be the case. I did submit a few.
No mention of when Phone app and Basic sites may be able to play the 3 missing premium games.

With the SHTF and localities closing bars/restaurants or limiting to take out only, I don't see how BT can weather this under their current model. When this mess is over and all the remaining closed places sites can reopen, BT will probably be the first cost to go (if existing locations even reopen to begin with).

I propose BT should go to a subscription model in-home version for the temporary near future and allow folks to play out of establishment for the Corona issue restrictions. With folks stuck at home, they could continue revenue and even maybe pick up more interest in the game that could translate to more bar traffic later (and more demand) - i.e. 'I had fun playing this while stuck at home for several weeks and now am interested in finding a place to play'. Personally, I just filled the kegerator as all bars/restaurants are ordered take out only and would be willing to play at home for $20 or so until this is all over.

They definitely need to open that radius connection from 2 to 20 miles since only 245 people played SIX last night.

Saw that on Badbart FB and the Buzztime FB page. Totally think BT should do that. That would be great for the company in terms of goodwill and keeping players from wondering off and never returning. Also giving us something to do. We could get a SIX tourney started etc.

Turning the radius up to 20 miles should take no more than a few minutes to implement. But the bars need to have left their BT computers on which many seem to have done. Stained Glass Pub here in MD is closed but I'm still seeing it on the app just can't connect as it's too far away.

Can you all chime in with the number of bars showing on your BT app when you are at home?
Thanks.

I have 11 sites showing near me. They all seem to have their computers on. This is Orange County, CA.

Well, hell. After this lil old grump cranked up the app on his lil iPhone for the first time in way more than a lil while, there were too many sites listed for my increasingly decrepit, fragile lil mind to count. :( As luck would have it, the nearest is 2.01 miles away.

Yes LILJOL San Diego has 84 of the new Basic Buzztime sites as of the fall. No tablets just bring your own device.

As for the 2.01 miles away try moving towards the bar as far as you can. When my BWW had BT it was 1.99 miles and if I went out to the front porch to sit outside it was 2.01 and wouldn't work there. That 100th of a mile is just a LIL bit.

Glad to see you on here.

Ok, so who on here, that is more than 2 miles from a BT bar, would play on the BT app if they could connect to a location? It should be a fairly dense area with plenty of registered players. So Bum F... rural areas are not good.

Give me your Zip Code and I'll see about getting that area (more than 2 miles from a bar) in a test. Can't guarantee anything or say more than that.

I'll start with 11550 for Megumi. I know there are no sites near Hempstead NY.

78754 4 locations in 20 miles. Unfortunately TX governor mandated statewide bar/restaurant shutdown today (was county based until today). In the dead center of a very large state. I am not within ~10 hour drive of an open location to play.

I don't own a smartphone, and there is no restaurant seating in Minnesota. That said, there was no local activity for Showdown, and four sites within twenty miles of me showed phone activity for Wednesday Six.

40241 Closest is 5.61 miles away at The Golden Nugget or 5.66 at Old Chicago.

I would play for sure.

The multiple Countdowns around happy hour time last night Fri 3/20 had in the 200 number range of players, it is on the app.
Sports had 158, on the app.
Topix had 154, on the app.
Spotlight had 52, it's Not on the app.
Movie Night had 80, on the app.
Pop Culture had 87, on the app.
The Countdowns after that had about 100.
Late Shifts had in the 50 range, on the app.

Surprised there weren't more players within 2 miles of a bar playing before Spotlight.

Only 52 for Spotlight, so some people are still out there in the bars. Stay 6 ft apart and keep plenty of Everclear handy to clean stuff.

Of course the problem is now that California is under the stay at home order, I doubt they're going to be writing new premium games during the order. Unless they're writing the games from their personal homes. But are they really going to write new games when the bars aren't open for people to play?

I do agree that lifting the 2 mile cap during the pandemic would be a good idea to at least get a few more players to play Countdown.
